Russian forces have lost 1,030 soldiers killed and wounded in the past 24 hours on the front lines of the war in Ukraine, the Ukrainian military said. Losses for Vladimir Putin’s forces included 48 artillery systems and 23 armored fighting vehicles, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
A Ukrainian estimate of Russia’s losses since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022 found that Moscow has lost at least 556,650 troops to Ukrainian battlefield deaths and injuries.
It comes as Volodymyr Zelensky called on NATO allies in Washington to limit the use of long-range weapons against targets in Russia, saying they would be a “game-changer” in the war with Moscow.
Mr Zelensky’s cabinet chief Andriy Yermak told a public forum that Russia has no restrictions on the use of weapons and that it would be a “real game changer” if Ukraine’s allies could remove all restrictions on the use of weapons given to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, UK-supplied missiles could be used by Ukraine to attack targets in Russia, Britain told Zelensky.

Psychiatrist shares analysis of Joe Biden’s mistakes at NATO summit
Psychiatrist shares analysis of Joe Biden’s mistakes at NATO summit
A consultant psychiatrist has shared his analysis of President Joe Biden’s mistakes at the NATO summit. The US president mistakenly referred to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky as ‘Putin’ when he introduced him on stage on Thursday (July 11), and also referred to vice president Kamla Harris as ‘Trump’s vice president’. In an interview with LBC on Friday, consultant psychiatrist Dr Raj Persaud said: “He looked like he had to concentrate too much to say some basic things.” Dr Persaud added: “Sometimes it’s not what you say, but how you say it that will make people worry about cognitive decline.”
