VP Kamala Harris Secures Democratic Nomination
According to WESH, Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison announced on Friday, August 2, that Harris received enough votes to become the party’s presidential candidate.
Harris reportedly responded to the feat via phone call “with supporters.”
“It will not be easy. But we’re going to get through this,” he said. “As your next president, I know we’re going to fight this.”
Harrison reportedly explained that Democrats “will rally around Vice President Kamala Harris and show the power” of the party at the Democratic National Convention, which will reportedly be held later this month.
VP Sends THIS Message to Donald Trump About Presidential Debate
According to CNN, in the evening, Trump took Truth Social to say that he will not participate in the upcoming debate with Harris, which is scheduled to be held by ABC News on September 10. However, Trump was informed that he will only participate in the discussion that will be held by Fox News on September 4.
On Saturday, August 3, Michael Tyler, Harris’ campaign communications director, reportedly responded to Trump’s words.
“Donald Trump got scared and tried to back out of the agreed-upon debate and went straight to Fox News to save him,” Tyler said. “He should stop playing games and appear in the debate that has been held on September 10. The vice president will be there in one way or another to take the opportunity to speak to a national audience. Sir, anytime, anywhere, anywhere should not there is a problem that he is too scared not to show up on the 10th.
Furthermore, Harris himself even took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to Trump’s message.
“It’s interesting how ‘anytime, any place’ becomes ‘one particular time, one particular safe place.’ I will be there on the 10th of September, as he agreed. I hope to see him there.”
