Vice President Kamala Harris described former President Donald Trump as ‘increasingly unstable and unhinged’ Monday night, referring to comments he made Sunday about using the military against domestic critics.
Harris held a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania – a Pennsylvania county that often predicts the winner of a national presidential race.
As he drew thousands to the Erie Insurance Arena, the Democratic candidate admitted he was an ‘underdog’ as the race tightened nationally and in key swing states.
That’s when he tried a new tactic — literally showing footage of Trump’s comments at his rallies.
‘Please roll the clip,’ he said.

“I think the bigger problem is people from the inside, we have some very bad people, sick people, radical lunatics,” Trump said. ‘And it should be easily handled, if necessary, by the National Guard, or if necessary, by the military.’
‘You heard his words. You heard a word from him. He spoke of the enemy in Pennsylvania. He was talking about the enemy in our state, Pennsylvania,” Harris said.
‘He’s talking about – that he considers anyone who doesn’t support him or who won’t submit to his will, as an enemy of our country,’ he continued, prompting widespread boos. ‘It’s a serious matter. He said he would use the military to go after him. Think this?’
Harris said that ‘we know who is going to be targeted’ from earlier similar comments.
‘Journalists whose stories are not liked. Election officials who refuse to cheat by giving extra votes or seeking additional votes for them. Judges who insist on following the law instead of bending it to their will,” said Harris. ‘This is one of the reasons I strongly believe that a second Trump term will be a great risk for America and dangerous.’

“Donald Trump is increasingly unstable and out of touch and he doesn’t have the power — that’s what he wants — he wants to send the military after the American people,” Harris reiterated.
He also blasted Trump over the passing of Roe v. Wade, said he ‘worked to prevent women from making their own health decisions.’
As the Democratic nominee slapped Trump harder at a rally Monday night, he stopped short of rallying attendees who chanted ‘lock him up!’
Trump loyalists would say ‘lock him up’ when he ran against Hillary Clinton in 2016, forcing her to go to jail for using a private email server while secretary of State.
‘So go on, go on!’ Harris told the Erie crowd. ‘Because seeing this, the court will handle it. Let’s deal with November, shall we? We will handle November. We will handle November,” he encouraged.
It is likely that the loser of Pennsylvania, will also lose the 2024 election.
Harris’ warm-up act was Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, who got cheers from the crowd when he appeared on stage wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers hat – paired with his trademark hoodie and gym shorts.
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman appeared at an Erie rally wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers snow hat, called former President Donald Trump a ‘clown’ and mocked JD Vance for not wanting to eat at Sheetz.
Senator John Fetterman told the Erie crowd, ‘You elected the president.’ “This is what happens in 2020, Joe Biden shows up and he smokes the clown and sends him home,” the Pennsylvania Democrat said.
‘Erie woooo!’ Fetterman said. ‘Oh God, you have come.’
The Pennsylvania Democrat stated that every seat in the stadium was full. There are some open seats that have a view obstructed by press risers, but otherwise the venue is filled up.
Fetterman said he understood why there were so many people in Erie Monday night.
‘Hey and you know the national media here. Do you know why?’ he asked. ‘Because you voted for the president.’
“It happens in 2020, Joe Biden shows up and he smokes the clown and sends him home,” Fetterman said.
He added that in 2022, ‘you send that weirdo back to New Jersey,’ a reference to Republican Senate rival Fetterman, TV personality Dr. Mehmet Oz.
‘And you’ll all show up for Bob Casey and you’ll send that weirdo back to Connecticut,’ Fetterman said, alluding to Casey’s Republican opponent, Dave McCormick, who spent most of his career based in New England.
Fetterman also followed Trump’s running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance, telling the crowd that they ‘don’t want to go to Sheetz.’
Sheetz is a gas station chain known for its made-to-order food.
‘What’s wrong with these people?’ Fetterman said with dismay. ‘Erie I love you, thank you Erie,’ he then said, before lumbering offstage.
