Julianne Hough has revealed more insight into his three-year relationship with Ryan Seacrest.
During the Sunday, August 18 episode of Watch What Happens LiveHough, 36, told the show’s host, Andy Cohenwhere she and Seacrest, 49, went on their first date.
“I think it’s like the Polo Lounge or something,” Hough said, referring to the famed restaurant and bar at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. While the Los Angeles hot spot is famous for its celebrities, Hough explains that the dates are “personal.”
Hough didn’t elaborate on the couple’s date, or their relationship, but did detail her favorite first date of all time, recalling a romantic trip to the Santa Monica Pier with someone “I don’t remember.”
“Oh this is so sweet,” Hough told Cohen, 56. “We did the Ferris wheel and kissed.”
Hough’s revelation about Seacrest comes after he recently opened up about why their relationship failed to last, pointing to the differences in individual levels of fame.
He said there was an episode of August 12 Dax Shepard“Armchair Expert” podcast, Hough was asked about how she dated the TV presenter from 2010 to 2013.
“I would imagine it would be fun and privileged and romantic, so I feel like I’m missing out on everything,” Shepard, 49, said.
Hough agreed, telling the host, “It was really dynamic. The rug was swept out from under me, and I was just flying and I was experiencing things that I didn’t know existed.
During that time, Hough began to make a name for herself, but she didn’t want observers to think she was using Seacrest for more important credentials.
“I had insecurities like, ‘I don’t want anyone to think I’m with him for this reason,'” she said. “That’s why I started playing smaller. I know that it’s my experience in situations and things in the past, so I compensate, (I) easily fit in with what other people need to make me happy.
Seacrest isn’t the only ex Hough is talking about this month. Hough broke down in tears as she opened up about her ex-husband, a former NHL player Brooks Laichduring the podcast. The couple started dating in 2014 and announced their engagement in 2015.
“He had the last few years of his career,” Hough said. “He got hurt and then he was traded before his team had won the Stanley Cup for almost 12 years. I feel like crying because I feel so bad for him.” He said that “it all started” when the couple got married in 2017. The couple announced their separation in 2020.
On Sunday Watch What Happens LiveHough also spoke about her perception of what society thinks of her, revealing that she thinks people don’t understand what she does for a living.
“I think because I’m doing so many different things, I’m a little confused,” Hough said. “People are like, ‘Does he act, does he dance, is he a singer, is he an actor, does he act?’ But I think I’m a storyteller. And I think naturally, everything I do is tell a story whether it’s through my body or my voice or acting.
