Did Jon Stewart go The Daily Show after winning his 23rd Emmy?
Unsurprisingly, that question was on the minds of reporters after yesterday’s ceremony.
Stewart and The Daily Show made history by winning, but viewers have long expected that the beloved comic will bounce back after the November election.
So, although his return to the host’s chair has been a huge success, there are fears that it may not last long.
Is Jon Stewart Leaving The Daily Show?
In January, we learned that Stewart would be returning to The Daily Show ahead of the election season – but with a twist.
The 61-year-old comedy legend will only host on Mondays, with the show open to other TDS personalities for the rest of the week.
Now, with a string of successes under her belt and another Emmy for her trophy case, is Stewart still planning to pack up after the election?
On Sunday, variety asked Stewart point-blank if he still plans to leave the show for a second time.
Stewart Plays It Safe
“Well, I feel that this election will not end. So why me? How can I leave? I will not be allowed to come out until the election, until we are all ground to some kind of calcified nubs,” he said.
“We are looking forward to being ugly.”
Well, he avoided giving a definitive answer, but it seems Stewart is too happy to stop now.
“I love the family of collaborators that I’ve built over the years,” he said while speaking backstage at the Emmys.
“And you know, the good part about tonight is coming here and seeing everybody back again.”

Stewart’s Show every day collaborators joined him on stage as the show won for best Talk series.
And took the opportunity to introduce showrunner Jen Flanz to the audience.
“I love this iteration The Daily Show,” Flanz said backstage.
“I am very happy to have passed here Show every day history, but especially at this time when we have so many different voices.
Flanz has been involved with the show since 1998. And while he didn’t comment on the future of TDS, it seems everyone involved is happy with the current rules.
variety reports that Comedy Central and Paramount Global appear to be in favor of a “hybrid approach” that will continue through 2025.
It’s good for many reasons.
After all, no matter what happens in November, there are bound to be some wild times. And we’d love it if Jon Stewart offered a unique commentary.
