Joe Biden’s future continues to hang in the balance after his debate performance prompted a chorus of Democrats calling for him to drop out of the re-election race.
The president had a post-debate interview with ABC News on Friday that was meant to allay concerns, but it only fueled anxiety in the Party with just weeks to go until the Democratic National Convention.
Biden is heading to the state of Pennsylvania on Sunday to try and restore public perception.
And Vice President Kamala Harris is heading to Las Vegas, Nevada this week as her name is being floated among those who could replace Biden for the presidential ticket in November.

Kamala Harris is the only ‘realistic path’ to win in 2024, operators write
By Katelyn Caralle, Senior US Political Reporter
An anonymous document written by senior Democratic officials accused Vice President Kamala Harris of being ‘one real path’ out of the ‘mess’ created by President Joe Biden’s debate performance.
Biden insisted he would not step down despite calls for him to step down after bombing a debate against Donald Trump last month.
Harris, 59, is one of the Democratic names floating around, but he has yet to beat Trump in most polls and does not lead surveys among those who want to see Biden replaced by another candidate.
The VP for Las Vegas, Nevada is there for a solo campaign stop.
Senator Chris Murphy told Biden to hold a town hall or press conference to address the issue of the debate
Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) recently joined the chorus of Democrats who admit Joe Biden needs to do more to prove he is the right person to run the 2024 presidential ticket.
Biden held a rally in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday and his first post-debate interview aired that evening on ABC — but it only raised more concerns about his fitness for a second term.
Murphy said in an interview on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday:
I have no doubt that the president’s performance in the debate has raised questions for voters… The question is whether this is still the old Joe Biden.
Personally – I love Joe Biden – I don’t know if Friday night’s interview is enough to answer that question. So I think this week will be very critical. I think the president should do more.
I’m not advising the campaign, but if I was I would advise the president to go out and do a town hall, to do a press conference, show the country that he’s still the old Joe Biden – one of the best retail politicians this country has ever seen.
Rep. Adam Schiff advises Biden to seek advice from ‘someone with objectivity’
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said President Joe Biden’s debate performance has raised many doubts about his ability to serve another four years.
The June 27 debate ‘rightfully asks’ whether the 81-year-old ‘has the willpower to defeat Donald Trump,’ Schiff told NBC’s Meet the Press during an interview Sunday.
Advice from California Democrats for Biden:
Get the opinion of someone you trust…someone who is distant and objective.
Democratic lawmakers are increasingly worried about their own November races: Report
Congressional Democrats are increasingly worried about their own race in November amid panic over President Joe Biden’s public setback.
House Democrats told Axios as lawmakers prepare to return from recess this Independence Day:
The sh*t will hit the fans on Monday, when Congress returns. People are afraid of their own race. But he also worries about the state, and about democracy.
The Democratic operative added that ‘everyone not named Biden,’ or paid by the president, knows there is a deep hole to climb.
Joe Biden continues to sweep the debate with rallies in the swing state of Pennsylvania
Joe Biden stopped campaigning in the swing state of Pennsylvania on Sunday as he continued to clean up after a disastrous debate.
The President will land at Harrisburg International Airport and speak on the tarmac around 3:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.
It was the first campaign stop after an interview with ABC News that aired on Friday and only stoked concerns about life as a candidate in November with some calling the sit-down ‘sad.’
The 81-year-old also held a campaign rally in Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday.
Allies, donors and even some lawmakers say the interview and two campaign stops are crucial if they want to avoid more calls to walk out before next month’s Democratic Convention.
Joe Biden’s campaign says it will no longer send pre-aired questions to the media as it cleans up after the radio host told them to send what the president should be asked.
A source familiar with Biden’s media booking operation told The New York Post:
While interview hosts are always free to ask whatever questions they want, moving forward, we won’t give you suggested questions.
Radio host Andrea Lawful-Sanders told CNN on Wednesday that she received eight questions from the White House telling her what to ask Biden in one of her first post-debate interviews.
Voters are increasingly worried that Biden will not be able to lead the US through the crisis
Only one in four voters think President Joe Biden can lead the US through a crisis on the scale of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
A new DailyMail.com poll asked voters if they believed an 81-year-old could stay awake for 48 hours, as President John F. Kennedy had to do in 1962.
But it is widely believed that Biden does not have the mental or physical fitness to take on such a leadership role.
Donald Trump, 78, thinks that rival Joe Biden, 81, should not succumb to pressure from Democrats to quit and should see a 2020 rematch in November.
The former president wrote on Saturday on the social media platform Truth Social:
Crooked Joe Biden should ignore his many critics and move forward fast and strong with an intense and far-reaching campaign.
He continued sarcastically:
He should be as sharp, precise and energetic as he is in Debates, when selling policies…
Campaign donors believe Joe Biden is ‘in denial’ about having to withdraw from the presidential race for Democrats to succeed in 2024.
The president insisted he was still in the race as donors grew concerned about his mental acuity and fitness for office after his train wreck debate performance against Donald Trump.
Sentiment is growing in inner circles and the public that it’s time for Biden to end his re-election bid.
One donor’s estimate, according to The Washington Post:
For every 10 people who think they should leave, one thinks they should stay.
Biden’s loaded post-debate radio interview was scripted, the host said
President Joe Biden’s team provided radio hosts with what questions to ask in their first post-debate interview.
In the disaster interview, the 81-year-old appeared in even more cognitive decline because he called a black woman – and now it was revealed that the sit-down was scripted.
Radio WURD in Philadelphia sent eight questions to ask the president.
Reporter Andrea Lawful-Sanders said she asked four questions — with Biden still able to make a mess of his answers.
The president made headlines after saying he was a ‘black woman,’ apparently while trying to nominate Kamala Harris as his vice president.
While his flub was defended as tongue-in-cheek, critics — including many in his own party — said Biden should be perfect after his disastrous debate performance.
