At a recent House Select Subcommittee hearing, participants on January 6 stole the spotlight from Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
Brandon Fellows, who was convicted for his role in the January 6 incident, became an internet sensation after he completely blew Fauci’s most important scripted moment during his congressional testimony.
Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Disease, has faced tough questions about the handling of the COVID pandemic, including strict enforcement of lockdowns and mask mandates that are based on assumptions, not science.
Rep. Deborah Ann Dingell (D-MI) then asked Fauci about the death threats he had received. As Fauci began to respond, Brandon Fellows, convicted in August of one felony count of obstructing official proceedings and four misdemeanors for his role in the January 6 event, stole the show.
Positioned behind Fauci and clearly visible on camera, Fellows made a face that quickly became an internet sensation. The video quickly went viral, with many netizens applauding the 29-year-old Fellows as he excoriated Fauci’s courage as he listened.

After mocking Fauci, Fellows told Fauci he was in prison and then escorted him out of a congressional hearing.

Brandon Fellows was a pro-MAGA protester who smoked weed in Senator Jeff Merkley’s office during the protest. Fellows, who described his imprisonment as ‘good and fun,’ was sentenced to three years this year for his role in the January 6 incident. He was released from prison on May 20.
After learning who was sitting behind him after the hearing, Fauci asked: ‘What do people do when they hear about COVID?’
In a Twitter/X post, Fellows wrote, “To every democrat who is so funny because I’m sitting next to the mass murderer Fauchi… Yes, I was a criminal, but only until the Supreme Court overturned the crime this month. See the opening statement of USA V Fisher… Supervised release coming to an end.
In another post, he wrote, “I have the coolest and coolest probation officer! We were scheduled to meet up last week, met for the first time today. Libs, your efforts are not working. He knows I’m innocent and even if he won’t admit it, I caught him smiling in Fauchi’s video”
However, Fellows’ actions have now led to death threats against him and his democrat mother.
Fellows’ antics in the hearing have led to an increase in threatening messages directed not only at him but alarming his mother and the nursing home as well. His mother is a young conservative, a declared Democrat, and his home is now facing severe threats.
Fellows remain undeterred and defiant despite threats, asserting their right to speak freely and adhere to their political beliefs.
“My mother has received death threats and the nursing home has been threatened to be attacked / the residents there have nothing to do with this … BTW, my mother is a democrat … I have received messages of threats and death threats as she has. They want me to shut up, I won’t. Trump 2024”
