Inter boss Simone Inzaghi warned his team: “Maybe they (Arsenal) have reasons to take revenge.

“I saw them play against Newcastle, but playing away with them is tough. It’s an interesting game, but we know we’re going to face a team that wants to put on a show.

Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi is confident Arsenal will seek revenge ahead of their Champions League clash at the San Siro.

The Gunners go into the game having picked up just one point from their last three Premier League games, and that comes just four days after losing 1-0 at Newcastle.

Inter are unbeaten in their last seven matches and have not conceded a goal in Europe so far.

Mikel Arteta’s side have enjoyed a strong start in Europe with a draw at Atalanta before consecutive home wins against Paris St Germain and Shakhtar Donetsk.

“In the moment you lose or two or certain news that you don’t want, we stay together and bring positive energy,” said Arteta.

“My blood rises because this is the kind of game we want to play. They (Inter) were in the Champions League final two years ago. They won the Scudetto last year.

“We want to show the ambition we have. This is the game we want to play, that’s for sure.

Arsenal boss says: “Declan unfortunately picked up an injury against Newcastle,” Arteta said.

“It’s a knock, it’s a problem with his foot, and he’s not comfortable with his boots, so he’s not fit. He’s not feeling well the last few days.

“We have to assess him on Thursday and see if he is ready for Chelsea.”

Declan Rice has been ruled out of Arsenal’s Champions League clash against Inter Milan due to the latest injury to manager Mikel Arteta.

Rice picked up a foot problem in the Gunners’ 1-0 Premier League defeat at Newcastle and has yet to travel to Italy.

Arsenal, who trail leaders Liverpool by seven points, face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

In Odegaard’s absence, Bukayo Saka was handed the captain’s armband and has developed leadership skills both on and off the field.

Arteta explained why he chose Saka to fill Odegaard’s shoes by saying: “People admire and respect him – he is one of the greatest players and the greatest talent, but also one of the leaders. He has earned that status in the team.

Martin Odegaard has returned to training for Arsenal and could feature in tonight’s game, although it seems safe to say he will be a substitute.

The Gunners captain has recovered from injury but may not be fit yet. Mikel Arteta spoke about Odegaard’s return at a press conference yesterday, saying: “It’s great that he’s back for a full session today.

“He feels good and he wants to join the team. We will decide if we use him tomorrow.

Inter Milan defender Matteo Darmian spoke about his team’s ambitions and what he wants to take from tonight’s match, saying: “Our ambitions are always high. Every day we try to improve, and now we want to show it on the pitch.

“We know that we will face a strong team, but we are no different, and we will believe when we play in the stadium.”

Darmian also explained how Inter prepared for Arsenal’s threat by not only mentioning Bukayo Saka as a spectator. He added: “Arsenal is not just Saka; they are a big collective. We have to perform well as a team if we want to get results.
