The Union Government will promote the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) finalists of the ‘Make in India Challenge-Season 1’ in the fields of animation, film making, games, music, and visual arts, on a global platform, said Information and Broadcasting. The ministry said it will provide an opportunity for all finalists in the 25 events held this season to gather on the main WAVES platform and present their best. They will be able to participate in some of the biggest relevant platforms around the world.

“For example, the winner in animation film making will be hand in hand to complete a project by joining some of the biggest production houses. The final project will be supported by the Ministry of I&B and taken to famous festivals such as the Annecy animation film festival, etc. The winner of the anime contest will be encouraged to participate at Japan’s biggest anime show,” he said.
The challenge is organized during the main event and aims to engage the entire creator community in the country over the next few months.
Battle of the Bands
Prasar Bharati also hosted “The Battle of the Bands and The Symphony of India” challenge. “The Battle of the Bands, in particular, provides a platform for bands to experiment with combining modern music and traditional folk works. This innovative approach has the potential to attract a wider audience and introduce a new generation to the beauty and diversity of tradition Indian music,” the Ministry said.
The Symphony of India competition will focus on the skills of soloists and ensembles specialized in traditional Indian classical music, while the Animation Filmmakers competition aims to promote the Indian animation industry by providing a platform for filmmakers to showcase their talent, connect with industry leaders, and grow. his skills.

Organized by Dancing Atoms, a Los Angeles (US)-based animation development studio known for its powerful storytelling, the competition will provide access to industry experts, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
“The process includes an online selection and masterclass, followed by submission and refinement of the pitch deck. Personal guidance and video pitch submission narrows the field to 15 finalists… In addition, the winners will have the opportunity to collaborate with studios, producers, distributors, and broadcasters famous like DD,” said the Ministry.
The Anime Challenge, organized by the Media and Entertainment Association of India, features multiple stages, including State and national levels, held in 11 cities. By offering a variety of categories for participation, including Manga, Webtoon, and Anime, the challenge ensures that creators of all backgrounds and styles have the opportunity to showcase their work.
“Game Jam, organized by the Indian Game Developers Conference (IGDC), is a national-level competition aimed at creativity and innovation in India’s growing game development industry. The competition is organized in two rounds: the first virtual game jam in six zones in India, the where participants compete for more than 48 hours, followed by hours of physical games for the top 10 finalists from each zone. The top winners will get a place in the Software Technology Park of the IMAGE COE India cohort,” he said.
Other segments include the AI ​​Art Installation challenge hosted by the Internet and Mobile Association of India; Adspend Optimizer Competition by Advertising Agencies Association of India; Community Radio Content Challenge by Community Radio Association; Film Poster Making Competition by National Film Archive of India; Handheld Educational Video Game Development Competition by Indian Digital Gaming Society; and the Creator Comics champion by the Comics Association of India.
