Huma Qureshi (“Gangs of Wasseypur”) stars in “Bayaan,” (The Testimony), a police drama that has just finished shooting and co-starring in Busan’s Asian Mission Market.
The film is directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, whose debut feature “Chauranga” received awards at the Los Angeles Indian Film Competition and the Mumbai Film Competition. It is a joint production between Platoon One Movies Shiladitya Bora, Summit Studios Madhu Sharma and producers Kunal Kumar and Anshuman Singh. Bora is considered a supporting film like “Newton” (India’s 2018 Oscar entry) and “Picasso” (Prime Video India’s first direct-to-digital acquisition).
The film facility is about a female detective who investigates her first case as the main investigator in a small town of Rajasthan. He faces significant challenges due to the influence of his enemies deep within the system, while also trying to live up to his father’s legendary status in law enforcement.
The forged additionally contains Chandrachur Singh (“Maachis”), Sachin Khedekar (“Sita Ramam”), Avijit Dutt (“Piku”), Shampa Mandal (“Sonchiriya”), Priti Shukla, Vibhor Mayank and Aditi Kanchan Singh.

Bora said, “We really envision ‘Bayaan’ as a world film. Its common themes and compelling narrative make it a strong contender for prestigious film festivals around the world. The venture received assistance from the Hubert Bals Worldwide Movie Competition Rotterdam Fund and was developed at the LA Residency, part of Movie Impartial’s International Media Makers program. Through the residency, Mishra was mentored by Craig Mazin (“Chernobyl”) and received script recommendations from writer Jeff Stockwell and story editor Ruth Atkinson.
Principal photography was completed in early September, with the film currently in post-production under editor A. Sreekar Prasad.
