Liam Payne died at the age of 31, some stores reported on October 16. The last British vocalist and former member of the band One Direction shocked fans around the world. Outside of his successful music career, Payne is also a father of one – his 7-year-old son, Bear Gray Paynewhich he shared with his ex Cheryl Cole. How Did Liam Payne Die?
According to several outlets, local authorities in Buenos Aires, Argentina, responded to an emergency call, and Payne was found dead after falling from a third-floor hotel room. Reuters reported that police in the Palermo neighborhood were called in response to “aggressive people who may be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.” The outlet also reported that emergency responders found Payne dead on the hotel’s interior patio.
Head of Buenos Aires emergency services Alberto Crescenti explained how the responders tried to resuscitate Liam and pointed out that he had a “cranial fracture” after he fell, according to La Nacion.
“Our job was to hurry, give him medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries are not life-threatening,” Crescenti said. “Based on what the team saw, there was a cranial fracture and very serious injuries that caused him to die instantly. The team could not do anything. There was no resuscitation as it was confirmed that he had died. His whole body suffered from very serious injuries.
Although it is currently unclear what caused Payne to fall from the hotel room, three people have been charged in connection with his death, according to the report NBCwhich mentions Argentina’s public prosecutor. prosecutor Andres Madrea charged with “abandoning a deceased person” and “providing and facilitating the use of narcotics,” as reported by NPR.

Payne is apparently in Argentina to attend his former One Direction bandmate Niall Horanconcert in Argentina. The late “Strip That Down” artist was seen dancing the famous “Macarena” with fans at the event. A video of the moment went viral on social media, in addition to other TikTok clips of him greeting fans from a box at the concert venue.
Will One Direction Reunion?
Payne and former band member, Niall, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinsonhave expressed interest in a potential One Direction reunion.
During the 2020 interview with PEOPLEPayne pointed out that he can’t “promise” anything but is still “hopeful” that One Direction will get back together someday.
“I can’t promise a reunion plan because it’s not right now,” the “Teardrops” singer told the publication. “I always put it into the language of music because everyone is now releasing, like, a two-year promo. But, you know, it seems like there’s still a lot of hope in that department. I’m starting to think it’s going to happen at some point. So, it’s exciting.”
Payne also discussed how he reconnected with Harry, Niall, Zayn and Louis during the COVID-19 lockdown. During the interview, the native of England noted that they all “have not spoken for a long time.”
“It’s nice to open the communication channel again because we haven’t talked in a long time,” Payne began, before adding, “And I think we all need it after spending so much time – just to get to know ourselves as people because we all know what we’re in a band. … And it’s nice to see everybody being good, you know?”
