Donna Brazile, former interim chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, issued a stark warning to Democrats considering Kamala Harris as Joe Biden’s replacement if he withdraws from the Democratic presidential nomination.

Brazile made the comments in an interview with CNN about the nightmare scenario facing Democrats since Biden’s presidency ended his debate performance against President Trump Thursday night in Atlanta.
CNN explains what ‘scared’ Democrats and Brazile are saying about their party choice (excerpts):
More than two dozen Democratic officials, political operatives and donors associated with Biden and many of the people most discussed as potential replacements – many of whom requested anonymity to discuss the most political situation they’ve ever faced – said. they fear almost any scenario: Forward with Biden, the nomination of Kamala Harris, the nomination of someone else who will defeat the first black woman vice president, many nights of many ballots that cause ideological and personal disputes nationally. television, even just revelations of shameful details about those who have never been vetted by the national campaign.
“It’s going to be a Category 5 hurricane,” said one Democratic official who was nervous about Biden considering what would happen if the president stepped aside. “People don’t realize the devastation it will unleash.”
…Although the mind turns to a list that includes Harris, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, Whitmer, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, California Governor Gavin Newsom, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and even the relatively new Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Maryland Governor Wes Moore has not announced anything but words of support for Biden. They are worried about being called traitors. He worries that it could make Biden more.
A debate watching party in Los Angeles on Thursday night happened with Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff, Pritzker, Whitmer and Beshear. There are other high-profile attendees – by some of the answers, Rob Reiner screamed about losing and Jane Fonda had tears in his eyes, according to people in the room.
…In an interview, Brazile said her reaction to calls she’s received since the debate from people asking about other candidates is: “How are you going to put all these white people ahead of Kamala?”
Backers of other candidates can admit that the internal feeling of respect for him will be widespread and hard to overcome, and fear about the backlash between Black and women voters from ditching him will be very high.
The Trump campaign has released a video reminding voters that a vote for Biden is a vote for Harris.
