Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner, Theresa Nist’s Relationship Timeline

Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist they were almost the first Gold Scholar success story.

Gerry broke down and proposed to Teresa during the season 1 finale, which was filmed in Costa Rica and aired in November 2023.

“When I woke up this morning, it was very difficult. I had really mixed feelings, and I got to the point with the question I had asked myself about, how did I get here? And is she the right girl? I know that you are not the right person with me,” said Gerry, pausing dramatically before dropping to his knees. “You’re the one I can’t live without. Theresa, I love you 1,000 percent. I will never stop believing that every day I choose you. Do you want to marry me?”

Gerry caught Theresa dead with a fakeout on camera, but there was an even bigger twist that fans didn’t see.

“I opened my little speech and I looked at her and said, ‘But Theresa, you’re not someone I can do,’ and there was a long pause,” he recalled in an interview with people in November 2023. “And what I said was, ‘Theresa, you’re not the right person for me,’ which was more harsh.”

Theresa remembers “slinking away,” thinking it was actually a parting speech. After the snafu, Gerry finds the right words and says that “the air is back in (Theresa’s) body”.

The two married in a televised wedding ceremony in January 2024, and when it looked like Gerry and Theresa found a happy ending, they announced their divorce three months later.

September 2023

While she didn’t win the first impression, Theresa still gave Gerry a hint. He gets out of the limo in his “birthday suit” since the night one of the seasons falls on his birthday. When they share cupcakes together later in the episode, Theresa tells Gerry Kiss to get some of the frosting off his mouth.

October 2023

When drama arises between Theresa and her fellow contestants Kathy SwartsGerry quickly came to the rescue. Not only did he confront Kathy about the tension, but Gerry comforted a crying Theresa in her room.

As the season goes on, their connection grows stronger and includes declarations of love.

November 2023

During their one night date, Gerry revealed his strong feelings for Theresa before finally popping the question.

“Part of our conversation at Fantasy Suites (is) the first time I told him that I was in love with him. It was almost an announcement of happiness,” he told People. “I said three times in a row, ‘Theresa, I love you. I love you, I love you.’ And I went, ‘And I’m going to ask you to marry me. I don’t know if you’re going to answer, but I’m going to ask you.’ So for me, when I got to the last episode and the engagement was going to happen, I was very sure that he was my man, 100 percent sure.

During life After the Final Rose special, the couple announced that they will get married on TV special wedding in January 2024. Then they shared plans to move to Charleston, South Carolina.

December 2023

The couple made their Instagram debut after the finale of the Gold Scholar. “Finally!!! Me and Theresa can go out in public,” Gerry wrote via Instagram along with a photo of him and Theresa smiling. “Couldn’t post until now because of the pain.”

At the end of the month, the two jetted to New York City to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Times Square. “Another fantasy night in a long line of fantasy nights,” Gerry wrote via Instagram as he toasted his next adventure with Theresa.

January 2024

Gerry and Theresa said “I do” in a televised wedding ceremony on January 4.

“I’ve known you’re the woman I can’t live without. I’ve learned that you calm me down with the touch of your hand. I’ve known you make me laugh easily with the comfort of a long-lost friend,” Gerry told Theresa under oath. I already know that you are a strong and independent woman, and your strength makes me happy. I already know that you make me a better person, a better person because of your sensitivity and your voice. Theresa, I now know that I have found the perfect partner to share life’s experiences with.

Less than a week later, Gerry introduced his wife to their dog, Cody, after they traded Indiana for Theresa’s hometown in New Jersey.

March 2024

It was later revealed during the separation interview that the two started talking about divorce at the end of March. He saw a counselor to discuss the decision.

April 2024

us confirmed on April 1 that the two have not moved in together after the wedding, with Gerry in Indiana and Theresa in New Jersey. Less than two weeks later, the couple announced their separation after “a couple of heart-to-heart conversations.”

“I still love this man, there is no doubt in my mind. I beg him every day,” Gerry said through emotion Good morning America interview.

Theresa noted that the couple is grateful for the support fans have shown throughout their journey. “We have received love and support from many viewers Gold Scholarand I don’t think we can tell you how many people have told us that this gives them so much hope,” he added. “We want nothing to change for anyone.”

June 2024

The duo signed a marital settlement agreement, according to legal documents obtained by us. According to the agreement, Theresa will keep any real estate in her name and any furniture and personal belongings in the property, including vehicles and bank accounts in her name. They will also maintain past and present “work rewards.” Gerry will also keep all property, vehicles, bank accounts and employment benefits in his name and personal belongings.

Gerry also filed for summary dissolution in June, allowing the couple to divorce to speed up the process and avoid court time. us confirmed they both signed a waiver of the final hearing.
