One MLB All-Star took the festivities a little too far in Arlington, Texas, earlier this season.
Veteran San Francisco Giants starter Logan Webb was about as reliable as he came, but he admitted he was drunk during his appearance at the MLB All-Star Games, where he blew a 3-0 lead for the National League.
Webb revealed this truth on the “Rose Rotation” podcast, saying that the Derby Post-Home Run party with an open bar is where he gets really tough.

“It was probably one of the more hungover days I’ve had, the day of the All-Star Game,” Webb said. “I took responsibility for it. I had a blast. It was a cool experience. I watched the Derby. They had a postgame player celebration, like a party for the players and their families.
“It’s in the middle of the Cowboys stadium, Lil’ Jon is DJing. It’s free alcohol. I just love it. I hate it when my wife wakes me up at seven in the morning and says, ‘Hey, I’ve got to do my makeup now,’ and I’m like , ‘Oh no, it’s going to be a long day.’ And it was a long day.”
Sure, the All-Star Game wasn’t right after Webb woke up, but the hangover drugs he tried didn’t work.

Fast-forward to the third inning, and Webb was hot going into the All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.
“I was nervous, I was excited, I had a lot of Red Bulls, I got Tylenol because I was trying to get rid of the hangover,” he said. “I think I threw all the good pitches in the bullpen. It was all me, and I wasted it all.”
Then, when Webb’s name was called to enter the game, he had only one thing in mind.
“Don’t puke, don’t puke, don’t puke, don’t puke,” Webb kept telling himself. “And it’s a long seat. I think the first pitch almost didn’t make it for (Dodgers catcher) Will Smith.”
As Webb’s frame began, Texas Rangers star Marcus Semien singled and Cleveland Guardians stud Steven Kwan worked a walk to put two runners on straight. Webb would eventually get out when Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson grounded out, but that put runners on second and third with one out and New York Yankees phenom Juan Soto coming to the plate.
Soto laced two RBI doubles, and the Guardians’ David Fry tied the game with an RBI single to bring Soto home.
“I was out of the game, and I felt bad,” Webb said. “It was like 7 million people watching. I said, ‘This team is going to hate me.’ And I’m walking in the dugout, and I’m going, ‘I’m bad, man, bad man, man.’ And every superstar you can think of who is on the National team is like, ‘Boy, wo give a f—?’ Every one was like, ‘Who cares, who cares, who gives a f—, who cares?’ That’s all I heard walking down, and I was like, ‘Anyway, that makes me feel better about myself.'”
While Webb’s teammates-for-a-game don’t mind him blowing the lead, he definitely wants to play better in front of all the baseball fans. He also noted that Shohei Ohtani will win the MVP after hitting a homer in his first plate appearance, and that the Los Angeles Dodgers star is a fan favorite.
