The Eastern European country of Georgia has developed into a battleground between conservatism and tradition and the multi-tentacled beast of Globalism.
Under phenomenal pressure from the United States and the European Union, the Georgian government has doubled down on its commitment to Christian values to discourage the very vocal minority funded by the foreign NGO Soros.
After a months-long battle over the ‘foreign agent bill’ – which is not unlike the US FARA law – now the speaker of the Georgian parliament has signed a law banning LGBT practices and propaganda in the country.
The Associated Press reported:
“Shalva Papuashvili, the speaker of the parliament, said on social media that the law ‘does not reflect current, temporary, changing ideas and ideologies, but is based on common sense, historical experience and centuries-old Christian, Georgian and European values -century.”
Georgia’s Globalist President Salome Zourabichvili has been predicted to refuse to sign the bill and returned it to parliament yesterday.

The law was introduced by the governing Georgian Dream party and legally approved by the legislature last month.
“The bill includes bans on same-sex marriage, adoption by same-sex couples and public endorsements and depictions of LGBTQ+ relationships and people in the media. It also bans gender-affirming treatments (i.e. sex reassignment surgery and hormone treatments) and changing gender designations in official documents.
‘This law protects the rights of all citizens, including freedom of expression, so that the rights of others are not violated, which is the essence and idea of true democracy’, Papuashvili wrote. Parliament gave the law its final approval as Georgia, a largely conservative country where the Orthodox Church has significant influence, prepares to vote in parliamentary elections.
As expected, the legislation attracted fierce opposition by ‘human rights advocates’ and LGBT propagandists, who said it would ‘further harass already vulnerable communities’.

“The law draws comparisons with Russia, where the Kremlin has highlighted what it calls traditional family values. Russian authorities in the last decade have banned public consent on ‘non-traditional sexual relations’ and introduced laws against gender-affirming treatment (i.e. sex reassignment surgery and hormone treatment), among other measures. The Supreme Court effectively banned LGBTQ+ activism by labeling what authorities called the LGBTQ+ ‘movement’ operating in Russia an extremist organization and banned it.
Papuashvili, the speaker of the parliament, said that President Zourabichvili and the Georgian opposition did not have ‘enough courage to express their opinion on this law.’
“Zourabichvili has long disagreed with the ruling party and vetoed the ‘foreign influence’ law adopted by parliament earlier this year. He was repressed by parliament, where Georgian Dream dominates. The measure requires media and non-governmental organizations to register as ‘pursuing interests foreign countries’ if they receive more than 20% of their funding from abroad.
The conservative path taken by Georgia complicates its plans to join the EU. The bloc suspended accession in response to the ‘foreign influence’ law and froze some financial support, while the US under the Joe Biden regime imposed sanctions on dozens of Georgian officials in response to the law.
