High drama continues in soapland next week, which proved to be great for some of our favorite drama series, with the return of some longterm legends and the departure of others.
Neighborhood royalty Toadie said her final goodbye to Ramsay Street as she exited the long-running Amazon soap after three decades in a moment she really won’t miss.
Grab that tissue, it will be aggravate.
And on the subject of icons, EastEnders welcomes back Bianca Jackson, who is determined to rescue her sister Sonia Fowler, who is now in prison for a crime she did not commit.
In Emmerdale, Tom King is also back – although in some ways he never left, as he will target Belle Dingle, taking her prisoner in a heart-warming scene.
And speaking of taking icons hostage, Roy Cropper found himself in a similar situation on Coronation Street.
Hollyoaks, meanwhile, continues its new era, with a long-awaited court date looming for abuser JJ Osborne – but Frankie is left reeling by what unfolds on the big day.
For all of this and more, I’m your man, so let’s dive right in with new spoilers detailing all of next week’s action.
EastEnders
1. Nish sets Vinny up as the fall guy for the money laundering scheme, staging a cash handover between his son and Harti. Vinny ignores Suki’s concerned warning, following Nish’s order by heading to the drop point. After Suki finds out that Nish has reported to the police, she asks Vinny to run away from Walford. But just as Vinny is about to leave, he walks into a trap.
2. The day of Debbie’s funeral proved to be a real event, with Reiss banned from the ceremony by Brenda. Martin offered his support, continuing to wake up at the Vic where Reiss delivered his speech – just as it happened…
3. Bianca bursts into Vic, demanding answers about Sonia’s imprisonment. He makes it clear that he doesn’t trust Reiss – but his behavior makes him his closest and dearest. Bianca later skips her GP appointment to attend a fundraiser for Sonia.
4. Teddy was angry to find out that Harry no-showed for the first shift at The Arches, but later redeemed himself with Phil when he saved Kathy’s handbag from a thief. However, something exciting happened when Harry made a mysterious phone call. Just what does he want?
5. Jack grows suspicious of the new Mitchell family. Will they be able to throw the detective off the scent?
Coronation Street
6. Daniel receives terrible news about Bethany, who is in intensive care in Turkey with a severe infection. Bethany regains consciousness to find Sarah by her side, as her mother tells her some life-changing news.
7. Joel approaches Dee-Dee with her wedding ring, declaring that he still loves her. Ed and Ronnie are forced inside. On what would have been their wedding day, Joel stumbled into the cafe and locked the door, leaving Roy in grave danger.
8. Dylan asks Betsy to come clean about planting the wallet on Mason but she refuses. Dylan returns home and confesses the truth to Sean.
9. Lauren breaks down to Roy, announcing that Frankie has had a scan to check for brain damage.
10. Fiz and Tyrone celebrate Fiz’s 40th birthday at the bistro but their happiness is short lived after a text from school – Hope’s secret vaping habit is revealed!
11. Planning will be done for Paul’s memorial. Gemma points out that Kit hasn’t confirmed that they can close the road. Can Kit, in his capacity as a detective, pull some strings?
Emmerdale
12. Belle arrives at Dale Head to find a place of chaos and, to her horror, she spies a secret camera, coming to realize that Tom has been watching her every move. Lydia encourages him to report the incident to the police. Belle is delighted when Amelia asks in touch to talk about Tom but, while she waits for Amelia’s arrival at the Wishing Well, Tom appears instead – locking the door and blocking her out.
13. Amelia got the wrong end of the stick and gave Belle and Chas two barrels to campaign against Tom.
14. Laurel and Charles clash over the harvest festival but hostility soon turns to passion, with both characters sharing a kiss – before taking it to the bedroom. Manpreet, meanwhile, encourages Jai to tell Laurel how he feels and, taking his own advice, he decides to do the same thing with Charles, arriving at Woodbine. Will they catch Laurel and Charles together?
15. John acted quickly to prevent Pollard’s angina attack, leaving Liam impressed. The clumsy rookie loves the compliments and finally gets a job in surgery.
16. Victoria becomes suspicious of John and demands answers when she snoops in the van. But just what will they reveal?
17. Amelia and Kerry make up.
Hollyoaks
18. Before listening to her pleas, JJ tries to convince Frankie to tell everyone she’s lying, using her mother’s birthday to try and trick her. Frankie was surprised. Darren, meanwhile, is worried that Frankie’s new behavior may cause him not to get the justice he deserves – but it escalates dramatically when, in court, JJ collapses and is rushed to the hospital.
19. Ethan receives some big news when Darren tells him that he can’t be his best man because of what happened at home. Ethan has it all figured out, telling him to put his family first.
20. After a week of speculation, the father of Leah’s baby is revealed. But the question is: just who is it?
21. Mercedes feels positive about her chemo results. John Paul tells Yiz about how important Mercy is to him. But will it be good news for Mercedes?
neighbors
22. The day of Toadie’s last farewell came and, knowing how important endings are, he himself spoke to Melanie, seeking closure over the past. Meanwhile, Terese is glad he’s gone, hoping she’ll never see him again. Karl and Susan struggle to say goodbye to their surrogate son when Toad surprises the couple with a special gift. It really is is the end of time.
23. Byron struggles to keep quiet about the fact that he saw Wendy hug Quinn and thus he revealed everything. Andrew gets angry when Wendy explains that the hug is related to his study problems, assuring his wife that they have ended their friendship. Andrew cools off and seems to accept this – but he totally honest?
24. Holly continues to spend Heath’s money but things go awry when she receives a text demanding her cash back. They decide to hand over the remaining funds, but disaster strikes when Karl and Susan accidentally spill the potting mix where they hid the money.
25. A hostage situation will take place in the Waterhole, with Holly taken by Justin as leverage. Andrew was alerted and the police soon got involved when Paul tried to break the phone between the officer and Justin. Sadie is worried for Wendy, even though Andrew assures her she’s not in the building. However, unaware that Wendy is hiding in the office – with Quinn!
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBCOne. Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV. Emmerdale airs weekly at 7.30pm on ITV.
