Donald Trump claimed victory and vowed to “heal” the country as the result saw him defeat Kamala Harris in a stunning White House reversal. Mr Trump took the stage at his campaign headquarters in Florida alongside his wife Melania and several of their children. “We will help our country,” said the former Republican President. Mr Trump, who won in Wisconsin, cleared the 270 electoral votes he needed to win the Presidency. The former President also won the swing states of Pennsylvania and Georgia.
The Union Cabinet approved the ‘PM Vidyalaxmi’ scheme for students to get easy loans for higher education
The Union Cabinet has approved the new scheme of PM Vidyalaxmi which provides financial support to meritorious students who are facing financial constraints preventing them from pursuing higher education. Under the scheme, anyone enrolled in a Quality Higher Education Institution (QHEI) will get an unsecured, unsecured loan from banks and financial institutions to cover tuition fees and other costs associated with the course. .

Caste census launched in Telangana
Backward Class Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar launched a door-to-door survey in Telangana at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) office in Hyderabad. The survey is to assess the social, economic, political, caste and educational status of all households across the State. This is done by the State Planning Department. The minister said that the last caste census was conducted in 1931.

CBSE removes ‘stupid’ schools: Affiliation of 21 schools withdrawn, six schools downgraded
In a crackdown on ‘stupid’ admissions, the Central Board of Secondary Education canceled the affiliation of 21 schools and downgraded six schools from senior to secondary level, officials said. “We are taking decisive action to combat the spread of dummy schools and send a clear message to all affiliated institutions to resist the lure of accepting fake admissions or not taking admission,” said CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta.

The Supreme Court ordered the faction of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to publish a disclaimer in newspapers, including in Marathi, that the issue of allocation of the “jam” symbol is pending in court. Indian service providers signaled strong growth in October amid favorable conditions

Switzerland’s ‘burqa ban’ comes into force from 2025
“The controversial Swiss ban on face coverings in public spaces known as the “burqa ban” will come into effect on January 1,” the Government said. Passed in a 2021 referendum in neutral Switzerland and condemned by Muslim associations, the measure was launched by the same group that organized the 2009 ban on new minarets. The governing Federal Council said it had issued a statement establishing the ban and that anyone who violates the law will be fined up to 1,000 Swiss francs ($1,144).
