“Has the son grown up now and shown an attitude towards his mother?” Kejriwal asked during a rally, where he posed five questions to RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat, signaling a major shift in the political narrative.
Kejriwal’s questions focused on the BJP’s use of central agencies, the party’s stance on pension rules, and its relationship with the RSS. He immediately questioned Bhagwat’s satisfaction with current BJP politics, aiming to drive a wedge between the saffron party and its ideological mentor.
In the first ‘Janta Ki Adalat’ public meeting at Jantar Mantar after resigning as Delhi CM, Kejriwal asked:
- Does the RSS agree with the BJP to use central agencies to undermine opposition parties and topple the government, while inducting “corrupt” leaders into its ranks?
- Does the BJP rule on retirement age apply to Modi, as it did to senior leaders like LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, and Kalraj Mishra?
- Does the RSS support the BJP’s practice of calling politicians “corrupt” and then joining the party?
- How does the RSS react to BJP president JP Nadda’s statement that the BJP no longer needs the RSS, despite being the ideological backbone of the party?
- Is RSS satisfied with BJP’s current political strategy and actions?
Kejriwal further questioned why the BJP rule, which mandates pension for leaders above 75 years, was not applicable to Modi, unlike Advani and others. “Do you agree with this fact that the rules applicable to Advani ji will not apply to Modi ji?” he asked Bhagwat.
Meanwhile, BJP staged protests against Kejriwal and AAP, accusing them of corruption, with demonstrations in Connaught Place and Rajghat. The protest sites were not far from Jantar Mantar, where AAP supporters, wearing the party’s blue and yellow colours, filled the premises. Banners with slogans like “Na rukega, na jhukega…” and “Hamare Kejriwal imaandar hai” were seen, as the crowd strengthened their faith in Kejriwal’s innocence.

Kejriwal, released on bail from Tihar Jail on September 13 after spending over five months in detention in the case of excise policy, to supporters that he joined politics to serve the country, not for power or position. He said the corruption allegations against him hurt him so much that he resigned.
As Delhi assembly polls weaving, Kejriwal called the election an “agni pariksha” (trial by fire) for him and urged voters not to support him if they believed he was dishonest. He also promised to move out of the chief minister’s official residence after the “shraddh” period during Navratri and live among the people, many of whom offered him accommodation.
The former chief minister also raised a rhetorical question to the crowd, asking if he thought he was a “thief” or that the people who sent him to jail were “thieves”.

Meanwhile, the BJP staged a protest against Kejriwal in Delhi, with a prominent protest led by Delhi BJP vice-president Kapil Mishra at Rajghat. The BJP has accused the AAP government of failing to fulfill any of the 70 promises made in its manifesto over the last ten years, including creating a pollution-free city and 8 lakh jobs.
Speaking to PTI Videos, Mishra claimed, “None of the 70 promises made by the Kejriwal government have been fulfilled. They promised to bring Lokpal Bill and Swaraj Bill, but nothing has happened.”
Mishra also published the AAP government’s report card and promised to distribute it across the city to expose Kejriwal. “Delhi people are fed up with Kejriwal, and we will approach every household with AAP’s report card and expose him when he cheats people,” Mishra said.
Amidst this, Congress leader Sandeep Dixit criticized Kejriwal’s ‘Janta Adalat’, calling it a “sponsored event.” Speaking to ANI, Dixit said, “It is a sponsored Adalat. It is a TV show. In 5-6 months, Kejriwal will be a permanent resident of Tihar Jail.”
