Vice President Kamala Harris likes to say that Donald Trump is only out for himself, not the American people. Well, this weekend we saw, in a picture-perfect example of psychological projection, Harris throw small businesses under the bus for his own political gain.
On Saturday, GOP vice presidential candidate JD Vance tried to enter the famous Primanti Bros. sandwich shop in Pittsburgh, only to be denied entry. This led to the dismay of waiting voters, some of whom angrily recorded the event on their phones.
VANCE NOT ALLOWED TO CAMPAIGN AT PITTSBURGH CULINARY LANDMARK – DESPITE HARRIS’ EVENTS AT SAME RESTAURANT CHAIN
Ire was raised on the right, threats of boycotts abounded, and Vance was a little irritated.
But Trump’s running mate graciously forgave the snub, while greeting fans in the parking lot, paying for the crowd’s meal with a generous tip. The store released a statement saying they were welcome and that their employees were shocked by the cameras.
As Bard once pointed out, it all ended well, until Kamala Harris would participate, and that is very telling.
On Sunday, the Harris campaign posted a video on X showing Harris getting a hero’s welcome at Primanti Bros. in August. The message is very clear – unlike Republicans, Democrats are welcome in polite society.
Let’s put aside the fact that Harris’s appearance at Staple City Steel this summer was met with widespread ridicule when it was discovered that his campaign had alienated real visitors and encouraged supporters to set up fraudulent scenes. It’s pretty bad.
But what Harris has wrought here is not only in the disingenuous papering of the house in political events. He really hurt the Primanti Bros.’ an effort to step back from this situation and make it clear that everyone, from every political line, is welcome there.
That’s the point Vance tried to make when he said after being denied entry, he said of the manager, “Don’t keep telling him, he just got a little nervous, but the local business is big.”
This is a good way to handle things. This is what generations of Americans want from our leaders.
Primanti Bros confirmed that this is happening and that it really needs to be done. But no, not for Kamala Harris, the ‘me’ girl, for whom everything must play.
It doesn’t matter to Harris whether the issue is over, the call to boycott the restaurant has died down, or people are ready to move on to more serious matters.
No, the vice president of the United States should spike the football at X through his astroturf show on the greasy spoon, even if it means hurting business. You see, winning Harris is more important than individual small businesses.
And this is done in a very rude way. Does Harris really want our entire business to be divided by the politics of our customers? How ghastly.
It brings me back to a conversation I had with a woman in San Francisco recently. He was a lifelong resident who followed the rise of Harris.
“He didn’t really believe it, and his words weren’t very good,” she said.

It echoes the same voice in Pennsylvania who told them they “don’t know who they are,” or, more generally, “I think they’ll say anything to get elected.”
Harris continues to insist that he is a selfless candidate in the race for the American people, while Trump only cares about Trump, but when has Harris ever done anything selfless, or not on the public dime?
When in his career has he taken a back seat to the good of people?
He certainly didn’t do it beyond the controversy and suffering surrounding the Primanti Bros., who didn’t want more than this whole story.

The harsh reality is Harris’s only moral compass and his campaign is set squarely on the north star of victory, not helping the real people, even if they think they can get close to that part.
In the meantime, like the bus participants in her show at Primanti Bros., we’re all just extras in Kamala’s Excellent Adventure.
