Do Dave Grohl and Taylor Swift have beef? Well, now they do!
Over the weekend, Taylor Swift Eras World tour performance in London delighted fans. But even so, he has his critics.
Dave Grohl and his band, the Foo Fighters, also performed in London on the first weekend of summer. Grohl made some comments that seemed to imply that he was accusing Taylor of not playing straight.
Does Taylor have to talk about this?
Dave Grohl makes a joke about ‘The Errors Tour’
While Taylor Swift performed sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dave Grohl and his band Foo Fighters played at the London Stadium.
“So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour,'” Grohl joked on stage.
“We had more than a few eras, and more than a few f-king errors as well,” he continued. “Just a few. That’s because we actually play live.
Grohl isn’t a household name like Taylor Swift. However, many people know him. He is one of the biggest faces in the world of mainstream rock music.
He was also once a member of Nirvana.
So it’s not like he’s a random singer at open mic night who gets people’s attention by (maybe) shading famous people. It is a major name in the field of music.
Is Dave Grohl protecting Taylor Swift?
“What?!” Grohl said to the audience. “Just saying. You like raw rock ‘n’ roll music, don’t you? You came to the f–king right place.
Earlier in the night, he had told the audience about Eras’ world tour – which could have led to boos.
To that, Dave Grohl simply replied: “I’m telling you, man, you don’t want to incur the wrath of Taylor Swift.”
Obviously, many people on social media – especially Swifties and Swift-haters – were quick to assume that Grohl was defending Swift.
At the same time, many are recalling Dave Grohl’s comments on BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2015, when he told the crowd that he felt “in love” with Taylor Swift.
A lot can change in nine years. Did he go from dedicating a song to her to insulting her as an artist and performer in order to appease the Swift-hating weirdos?
Will Taylor Swift Perform Live? His Response To Shade Dave Grohl
On Sunday, June 23, Taylor Swift once again performed at Wembley Stadium. During the performance, Taylor paid tribute to her band.
“Every member of my band, every member of our crew, my band – who will be playing live for you for three and a half hours tonight – they deserve it,” he praised.
You can see multiple videos of Taylor saying this on Twitter and elsewhere on social media.
Of course, Taylor said it was just a tribute to her band, reminding everyone of their hard work.
After all, the Eras the world tour will not last forever. These professionals deserve recognition – and future employment as well. This was his job, and no matter how much Taylor paid him, he was probably going to want to work again.
If Taylor Swift exercise say this to clap back at Dave Grohl’s, then he does it delicately, diplomatically, and masterfully.
