Colin Farrell Launches Foundation in Honor of Son with Angelman Syndrome

In an hour-long press conference on Monday, Clermont County prosecuting attorney Mark Tekulve detailed the times earlier than the fatal incident on June 15, 2023, in addition to the morning of the fatal arrest. Presser arrived a few days after Doerman accept the request statement and sentenced to life imprisonment.

He pled responsible for several counts of aggravated murder – one for each of his sons, Clayton, 7, Hunter, 4, and Chase, 3 – and two counts of felonious assault, for assaults on his spouse and stepdaughter. With the plea deal, the death penalty was taken off the table.

In Tekulve, Doerman works full-time as a member of the Insulator Union, while his wife Laura stays with their three sons – homeschooling one – and stepdaughter Alexis.

He noted that before the June 2023 murder, there was no police review related to the disturbance at the house, saying that, “for all intents and purposes, in the surface world, the household appeared to be very happy.”

Below is the prosecution’s timeline of key events like the arrests.

• June 10: Doerman takes his sons to the races in indigenous grime for a “boy’s day,” while encouraging his wife and stepdaughter to buy groceries and spend time together. In a police interview, Doerman later reported no sleep loss that night … with Tekulve saying there was “no indication of a return complication.”
• June 11: Doerman takes the boys fishing, with no “review of disorderly conduct.” Speaking to investigators​​​​​​​after the murder, Doerman allegedly gave “conflicting statements” about whether he slept properly that night.
• June 12: On Monday, he went to work, there was nothing strange or irregular about his behavior that co-workers reported. Once again, he gave conflicting statements about his sleep, but ultimately said he didn’t sleep “very well” that night.
• June 13: Off to work again, get here and work on the car lights. As with the previous day, he gave conflicting statements about his sleep, but ultimately said he “didn’t sleep very well” that night.
• June 14, Morning: Doerman woke up his stepdaughter up before leaving for work round 4-5AM – one thing Tekulve stated “a very common factor to do – teach him to love her and apologizing for” no matter what I have done for you and for the chapter that I have done to destroy you.” They then work as standard, there are no irregular reports.
• June 14, Night: Doerman was coaching his son Clayton in baseball the night before the murder. The whole family went to the baseball game and believed that, apart from showing distraction, the defendant was performing normally. The defendant gave several reviews that he could not sleep at night.

On his way to work on June 15, the day of the murder, Doerman allegedly searched YouTube for a track titled, “Plessed In Hell,” by Colt Ford.

Tekulve defines the lyrics in the presser, which embraces, “Am I he shinin’ soft or just the darkest day. I thought he was going to go, hell I thought he was going to stay. Oh God, I’m so confused, is this a lie or a fact. I’m at a crossroads, tell me what’s right or wrong? It’s gettin’ hard to tell.

His colleagues did not report anything irregular about his behavior at work, although he left during the day, around 9:30 in the morning. He was later seen perusing the supplement/vitamin aisle at a neighborhood Kroger, before walking into the “Little Clinic” inside the store because, according to Tekulve, “his mom led him there” after he told her. “Having some complicated emotions.”

Found at Kroger, Tekulve identified, Doerman was wearing the same clothes seen on bodycam footage that day, after killing his son. They also stand out because Doerman’s mother didn’t alert anyone to her son’s “confused emotions” — not even his wife, Laura, the police or the disaster hotline. Doerman left the store without shopping or talking to anyone at the clinic.

At his best home, he stopped to buy a 16oz Bud Gentle, then headed out to the warehouse when he got home. Shortly after, the family got home from surgery, with the boys “overjoyed” to see their father. He performed with her, while Laura made lunch.

“While eating lunch, the Defendant told his wife that ‘this might be the best meal ever,'” Tekulve said. “This comment, along with the different feedback, caused the wife to imagine that the Defendant was considering suicide.”

Round 12:50, he is also known as his father and is accused of saying, “Clayton is going to be the hardest.”

As the day wore on, he did yard work and enjoyed time with his children early, at about 3:30 p.m., he began Bible study with his son Hunter. According to Tekulve, he “walked around the house muttering,” Chad knew what was right. Chad knew what was right. His wife told him he was scaring her, and he said, ‘I’m just having fun,'” said Tekulve, who believes he “actively lied to her” to calm her down.

Around 4 p.m., according to Tekulve, Doerman “reluctantly” began to tell the boys that he “loved them and (they) didn’t do anything” and that he was “the most effective boy” … bedroom first put it down. Doerman then allegedly jumped “and took the gun from the guard,” leaving his entire household “satisfied (he) was going to kill himself.”

“Terror filled the room. Laura was screaming, the kids were screaming, Laura was afraid she was going to kill herself,” Tekulve said, claiming everyone begged her not to kill herself, but told Doerman that he loved her. When Laura got the call for 911, Doerman allegedly grabbed her, threw her on across the room and said, “It’s too late.” He then shot Hunter multiple times as Laura, Alexis and the two boys watched – hitting Hunter in the torso, stomach and twice in the upper body.

When Laura tried to revive Hunter, Doerman then allegedly chased after Clayton – first knocking him down, before grabbing him twice in the head, right.

Alexis, meanwhile, grabs Chase and tries to run for help. A video of the neighbor’s ringing has been proven, during which he can be heard screaming, “Help me! Help me don’t get shot!”

Doerman allegedly held her stepdaughter at gunpoint, forcing her to drop the child — who then ran and hid from her father behind a nearby trash can, while Alexis ran for help. Doerman then pulls out the set to shoot Chase in the head, correctly, but the journal is empty. As he reloads, Laura begins to struggle with him, at one point putting her hand on the barrel of the gun “in an effort to save Chase a lot.” He is wounded, Doerman regains control, and then kills Chase at his mother’s door.

He then surrounded all three boys outside, while Laura tried to revive him. After the second 911 call – the first one was disconnected – Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene, with the following arrest captured on bodycam footage.

Inside the police cruiser, the defendant was heard saying, “You know I did it. Take me to jail.”

Prosecutor Lara Baron Allen also took the rostrum and said that Doerman was not aware of his psychological state before the incident – as his initial defense was not responsible for the purpose of insanity and psychological illness. Allen stated that the court docket professional felt that the NGRI factors were not met, although he believed that he was affected by emotional dysfunction at the time of the murder.

He also made several phone calls from jail. In one, Doerman stated that he felt no remorse for what had happened; in another, he is in contrast himself to Hitler to make the world information.

When asked if prosecutors have any idea why he committed the murders, Tekulve would not speculate.

“There is no concept. Don’t know why. Most likely they will not be answered,” he said.
