Why Was Chrisean Rock Arrested On A Felony Fugitive Warrant?
As The Shade Room previously reported, Rock’s arrest at the Van Nuys West Courthouse on June 10 was prompted by an open “felony fugitive warrant” stemming from a case in Oklahoma.
TMZ initially reported that Rock wanted to be charged with “possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.” The charges were reportedly due to his arrest in the state on February 18, 2022. According to the Oklahoma State Court Network, Rock was also cited for refusing a traffic ticket on that date.
Rock’s Oklahoma case records show that Rock pleaded not guilty to the charges on October 7, 2022. On March 15, 2023, Rock appeared in court again and his sentence on each charge was suspended “for four years until March 15, 2027.” In addition, Rock was ordered to pay court costs with a payment plan and serve 120 hours of community service at a homeless shelter “within six months.”
At that time, Rock was placed on supervised probation and ordered not to violate any “city, state, or federal” laws in the country.
However, on August 13, 2023, Rock was “alleged to have committed a new offense of violence” against a woman in Fort Washington, Maryland. Then, in November 2023, authorities were informed that Rock was accused of assaulting Chanel’s James Wright at a Tamar Braxton concert. Both incidents were noted in a supplemental report in Rock Oklahoma’s case file dated November 21, 2023. In addition, it was noted that Chrisean “withdrew supervision” from a parole officer.
Ultimately, a warrant was issued for Rock’s arrest. However, he was reportedly in limbo until authorities were able to locate him and take him into custody on June 10.
