The hybrid doc sequence “The Letelier File,” drilling into what is commonly referred to as the main act of terrorism around the world committed on US soil, looks like a potential highlight among the 11 initiatives selected for a one-to-one conference at the Ventana Sur Collection Market Latam.
“The Letelier File” unites the great artistic forces of Chilean TV-movies – creator of “Jail within the Andes” Felipe Carmona and helmers Rafael Valdeavellano (“Chicago Boys,” “Breaking the Brick”) and Nicolás Acuña, director of Fox’s “Besieged” . ” and RTVE / TNC “The 1,000 Days of Allende.”
Additionally, among the 11 initiatives is the hybrid docu-series “Blessed,” a major TV series developed by Quijote Movies’ “The Settlers” producers.
In addition, in the joint is “Couple Condominium”, created by Azul Lombardia – director-creator of “SegĂşn Roxi”, seen on Netflix, Movistar and TVP Latin America, the film “Doberman” and the huge Netflix hit “No me rompan” – and Lucas. Produced by Giancarlo Nasi and Sergio Karmy for Quijote Movies Chile, behind the Cannes winners “Land and Shade” and Blanquita, in addition to “The Settlers,” the doc sequence was created by YassĂn Velázquez and Constanza Erenchun. In it, the biggest names in Chilean urban music share difficult episodes from life and the artistic process. “Content material like this makes sense, combining the high-quality taste of Quijote with what other people need to watch,” Karmy said.
“Couple Condo” (Creators: Azul LombardĂa and Lucas Mirvois; Argentina)
Produced by Mirvois on the La Maldita label, “Departamento” sees three married {couples} whose pals decide to rent a condo where everyone can take a week-long downtime from married life. What follows is “a journey filled with misunderstandings, jealousy, regrets and wild accidents,” the synopsis runs.

Produced by Carola Fuentes, co-director of “Chicago Boys” and “Breaking the Brick,” a docs-fiction/true crime sequence detailing the 1976 terrorist attack near the White House that focuses on Pinochet’s opponent Orlando Letelier, finds Chile’s position . the famous intelligence service, DINA.
“Land of the Free” (Creators: Kristian Natalicchio, Patricia Liguori; Mexico)
A drama sequence through which the founder of Freedomland, the most prestigious advertising company in Mexico, is imprisoned for tax fraud. When he was imprisoned, a candidate jockey to succeed him. Created and written by seasoned advertising producer Kristian Natalicchio and playwright, screenwriter, and producer Patricia Liguori, who adores the theater performing “Etiqueta Azul,” “Dos Hermanas” and “Vestidito.”
“Useless Man” (Writer-Director: JoaquĂn Bravo; Uruguay)

“Stolen Identity: Sexual Crime in the Digital Age” (Director: Sebastián Carreras; Argentina)
A real crime documentary, this sequence will tell the story of a girl whose life goes the other way up after discovering that her ex has stolen her id and created a pretend profile that includes intimate photos. “Stolen Identity” will make the transformation of the protagonist from a sufferer to an activist as he faces harassment and fights to create legal guidelines against digital violence. Produced by Cactus Cine, the sequence was written by Sebastián Davidovksy.
“The Plague” (Director: Guillermo Carbonell; Uruguay)
This supernatural thriller, produced by Murdoc, is set in Montevideo in 1970, a place where the dead begin to come back to life, not like zombies, but rather confused by people who are looking for solutions to their lives. A paramilitary group keeps the phenomenon secret, searching for resurrected people and locking them in metallic coffins on deserted islands. Director Carbonell who wanted the same title received several awards in 2017, together with Morbido Fest and Fantaspoa.
“Living” (Director: Marina Artigas; Uruguay)
Produced by El Cielo Cine and written and directed by Artigas, this sequence follows 4 friends from their 30s who are forced to share a small condo. Trapped, broken, and down on their luck, they try to straighten out life-and hopefully grow up in the course of. Author-director Marina Artigas is a 20-year business vet with expertise on either side of the camera, appearing in dozens of shorts, films and sequences and leading the short film “NĂ©lida.”
“Santa Marta” (Author: AndrĂ©s Borda; Colombia)
Another interval story, this time set in 1976, “Santa Marta” is the story of Carmen, a local police officer who investigates the murder and rape of an English woman. While doing her job, Carmen is forced to run with her son through the labyrinthine world of Santa Marta, a metropolis caught between towering mountains, stunning beaches, crime, and corruption. Mainly based on real events, produced by Rhayuela Movies.
“Second Life” (Director: Juan Rodriguez-Briso; Spain, Argentina)
Omnicorp Estudio produces this sci-fi drama about the fictional company Second Life, which develops expertise that can predict everyone’s death date from pure causes. Realizing that they have reached an expiration date adjustment in the way people behave, together with the protagonist of the sequence Martina, a single mother from Buenos Aires who knows she only has 4 years left. Director-author Juan Rodriguez-Briso is known for several short films that always play with the style and characteristics of the well-received documentary “Eightteam.”
“South Pole Explorers” (Director: Jota Loyola; Chile)
This documentary sequence will tell the story of the expedition sequence to the South Pole and the explorers, researchers, environmental activists, pilots, sailors and divers who are working to learn more about our planet, and defend its future at the same time.
