Voting for bypolls to Manglaur and Badrinath Assembly constituencies is underway in Uttarakhand.
Polling began at 8 am on Wednesday and will continue till 6 pm, election officials said. Votes for the poll will be counted on July 13
The Manglaur bypoll was necessitated by the death of BSP MLA Sarwat Karim Ansari in October last year. The Badrinath seat fell vacant after Congress MLA Rajendra Bhandari resigned and switched to the BJP in March this year.

Jalandhar West constituency is witnessing a multi-cornered contest with major political outfits like AAP, Congress and BJP competing to defeat each other.

Bypolls Update: Voting Begins in Vikravandi Constituency in Tamil Nadu
Polling began for the by-election to the Vikravandi Assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday with people arriving at the polling stations from 7 am to exercise their franchise.
There are 29 candidates, and the counting of votes will be done on July 13. There are 2.34 lakh voters, including 1.15 lakh male and 1.18 lakh female voters in the constituency.
Tight security arrangements have been made at the polling booths in the triangular contest with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader candidate Anniyur Siva (alias Sivashanmugam A) against Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) C Anbumani and K Abinaya of Naam Tamilar Katchi.

Bypolls Update: Voting Begins in Four West Bengal Assembly Seats
In West Bengal, three of these constituencies – Maniktala in Kolkata, Ranaghat Dakshin, and Bagdah in North 24 Parganas – are located in the southern part of the state. The fourth, Raiganj, is located in the northern part of Uttar Dinajpur district in Bengal.
There are about 10 lakh voters in the four assembly segments in the state.
The Election Commission (EC) has deployed around 70 companies of security forces to guard the 1,097 polling booths spread across the four assembly seats. The counting of votes will take place on July 13.

In Bihar, more than three lakh voters will decide the electoral fate of 11 candidates.
The by-poll was necessitated by the resignation of MLA Bima Bharti, who had won the JD(U) seat several times but withdrew to contest this year’s general elections on an RJD ticket.
He lost his deposit in the parliamentary elections and is now contesting the polls again as the RJD candidate. JD(U) has fielded Kaladhar Prasad Mandal, who is contesting the 2020 Assembly polls from Rupauli as an Independent. Former MLA Shankar Singh, who has quit LJP (Ram Vilas) led by Union minister Chirag Paswan, is also contesting as an Independent.
