Late in the evening on Tuesday, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson announced that the House will file an amicus brief in support of Steve Bannon’s appeal against Congressional contempt related to the J6 investigation by the January 6 Committee that was not authorized.
The Citizen Press tweeted about “Big news” for Steve Bannon Tuesday night:
1) The Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group (BLAG) voted tonight 3-2, affirming the official legal position of the DPR that the J6 committee is invalid, and that all subpoenas issued by the committee are also invalid.
2) BLAG has now directed the House Office of General Counsel to file an Amicus Brief in support of Steve Bannon with Justice Roberts.
3) Matt Gaetz explains how the BLAG process works in a video.
4) I spoke with Bannon in the last hour and he was optimistic.

The Bipartisan Legislative Advisory Group (BLAG) is a standing body of the US House of Representatives, established in 1993. It consists of the Speaker of the House and the majority and minority leaders. BLAG directs the activities of the Office of the General Counsel of the House of Representatives, providing guidance and monitoring legal issues and decisions concerning the House of Representatives.
Speaker Johnson appeared on Fox News tonight with Sean Hannity to share hopeful news.
Sean Hannity asked Speaker Johnson to update the audience on the latest actions by the US House: “Mr. Speaker, I understand that there may be a change in the position about the House and the attitude on January 6 of the Committee, and maybe about Steve Bannon, and maybe have a big impact on the disgraceful case. Tell me what happened…”
Speaker Johnson replied, “Yes, we are working on an amicus brief on the appeals work in the case because the committee on January 6th, we think, made a mistake. We think the work is impure. We think they may have evidence that is well covered and as well as more nefarious activities. We’ve been investigating the committee itself. We don’t agree with how Speaker Pelosi is putting it all together. So we’re going to tell the court about it, and I think it’s going to help Steve Bannon.

This decision by the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group (BLAG) declaring the January 6th Committee invalid also declared the subpoenas, including the subpoena given to Steve Bannon to be ignored, allowing the J6 Witch Hunt Committee to charge him with contempt of court.
Speaker Mike Johnson also appeared on CNN to discuss the House decision to a disappointed Kaitlin Collins.
Offered without comment on Kaitlin’s influence here.
But more important to note is that CNN continues to spread the lie that executive privilege cannot be waived by the President in relation to communications with people outside the government (see the end of the clip… https://t.co/tqDGev77Vn

Last week, Steve Bannon lost his appeal to delay the July 1 start of his contempt-of-Congress criminal prison sentence from July.
The left-leaning D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against Bannon. Bannon, the former Chief Strategist for former President Donald Trump, is likely to seek intervention from the Supreme Court.
Rep. Byron Daniels was asked about today’s vote by the House. Rep. Daniels (R-FL) responded with this tweet:
“If Steve Bannon & Peter Navarro are the standard for DOJ prosecutions, then why is AG Garland the exception?
Garland decided his opinion was more important than the elected representatives of the American people.
They think they are above the law.
It’s a SERIOUS PROBLEM.
Congress must act.

On Friday morning, Jeff Clark, Former US DOJ Double Assistant AG, posted this on Twitter. Steve Bannon has only nine days left until he will be sent to prison for four months before the 2024 election – the most important election in the last 150 years!
On Friday, Clark warned that there were only 9 days left to keep Bannon out of federal prison.

Bannon’s team has just filed an emergency stay application at the Supreme Court. See images from the first two pages below.

It looks like the members of the House of Representatives have thrown out the accused unfairly and condemned Steve Bannon lifeboat! Pray for Steve Bannon, for the courageous House members fighting to save innocent people from the clutches of Democrats who use the law to punish their political opponents, and for Chief Justice John Roberts to clearly see this sick and demented scheme by Democrats for what it is. that and he will do the right thing.
