Blake Lively has shared some rare details about her and Ryan Reynolds’ son, Olin, revealing how they celebrated their first birthday.
In a recent interview, Blake revealed that her son had a really messy birthday cake at his first birthday party – and said it may have ‘bothered him for life.’
The It Ends With Us actress, 36, has faced a wave of criticism in recent weeks amid claims of hostility on the plane with her co-star Justin Baldoni, 40, and resurfaced the interview which she allegedly made Reporters feel ‘unfair’.
While Blake, who played Lily Bloom in the film based on Colleen Hoover’s book of the same name, has not yet responded to the claims of the dispute or addressed the damaging content of the interview that has resurfaced, her co-star, Brandon Sklenar, who stars in Atlas Corrigan. , shows a long statement calling out ‘vilifying’ women involved in the making of the film.
Now, in an interview promoting the film, instead of setting the record straight about the animosity on set, the actress instead shared some inside information about how she and Ryan, 47, celebrated their son’s first birthday.
The couple, who married in 2012, have four children, James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4 and Olin. Opting to keep her children mostly out of the limelight to give them a normal life, she rarely shares details about her children.
After Ryan revealed the name and gender of his son during the Deadpool & Wolverine press tour, it seems the Gossip Girl alum wanted to share her special story and open up about Olin’s birthday, which happened in February.
Sitting down with BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball and Friends, Blake revealed that her son had a rather explicit birthday cake.
‘My birthday cake always has a sense of humour, for my baby I just make a big milk one,’ she laughs.
He went on to say that Olin was too young to say what kind of cake he wanted, so he decided to get creative and noted: ‘That I think will haunt him for the rest of his life’.
‘But what do you want in one? He couldn’t announce what he wanted. So, milk!’ He was joking.
Blake has talked about his baking prowess before and has his own cooking and lifestyle blog at one point called Preserve.
Over the years, she shared many pictures of cakes she made for her nearest and dearest, including watermelons, sleeping unicorns and other impressive creations.
Taking to X, fans reacted to Blake’s confession, with many laughing as they chose the cake.
Babenataliemay wrote: ‘lol that’s funny! I mean, what’s life without a little drama, right? but many, theme cakes can be wild sometimes’.
While jessxluuna added: ‘lol, poor kid! to be honest, that’s the wild birthday theme of the most memories’.
Queenhegena commented: ‘Omg, Blake Lively is a motherhood goal! She actually made a boob cake for her son Olin’s 1st birthday. I mean, if that doesn’t show love, idk what is! Moms out there, will you make a cute or cute cake for her birthday? #MomGoals #BdayVibes’.
Blake and Ryan’s love story began in 2010 when they starred in the American superhero movie Green Lantern. However, they didn’t start dating until 2011, as they were already committed.
In 2014, two years after becoming husband and wife, the couple had a monumental year. She didn’t just make her red carpet debut Meet Gala but also announced that she is expecting her first child.
After welcoming James in January 2015, they welcomed three more children in 2016, 2019 and 2022, increasing their family to six.
Although known for his humor, in December 2022, Ryan won the prestigious People’s Icon award at the People’s Choice Awards and gushed about his family in his speech.
“Blake and the girls, you are truly my heart,” she said. ‘You are my hope, you are my joy. I joke that my family is tired of me, but the truth is, you give me more strength than anyone else can take.’
