Captain Sandy Yawnproposal for Leah Shafer there is a spotlight from Below Deck MediterraneanSeason 9 finale – but not everyone is invited to prepare for the celebration.
During the Monday, September 23, episode of the Bravo hit, Aesha Scott kept Ellie Dubai in the long arm after realizing he let go of the minimum power he asked to his head.
“I feel like Ellie is burning me in a way. She’s standing there like she doesn’t understand,” Aesha said to the camera when she finally finished in the middle of a head stew argument with Ellie. “He’s really calculating. I don’t think he knows what he’s feeling.”
Ellie didn’t have the same perception of the situation.
“At this point, everything I did was wrong,” he said. “I’m trying to prove to my boss that I can do this job. How can he write a reference that says I can be a good leader if he’s never seen any leadership skills from me?
After complaining that she wasn’t given enough of a chance to open things up on the ship, Ellie’s wish was granted as some of the other crew members left to help prepare Sandy’s proposal to Leah.
“Ellie, you’re in charge while I’m gone. There will be a van coming to take everyone to the proposal location,” Aesha explained on the radio before explaining to the camera, “Joe (Bradley), Gael (Cameron) and Carrie (O’Neill)they were all so fast that I could trust them to do the job. And Ellie is the second stew, so if I’m not on board, she’ll have to do it.
However, Ellie felt left out of the most important moment, saying in a statement, “I always feel down. Aesha did not choose me to be engaged to Captain Sandy’s fiance which would have been an honor for me. I feel that all the work that has been done during this season was for nothing.
The non-assisting crew stayed behind to get ready for the final group event later that night. As they got into the van to drive to the location, Ellie complained Bri Muller, Nathan Gallagher, Iain Maclean and Jonathan Shillingford about how he thought he was treated.
“If they do the decorating without me, I’m going to back off. I’ve been busting my ass all season and then they’re like, ‘OK, good. Now Carrie’s here, so go and cook,'” Ellie noted. “Like she was hired as someone who will help us. Don’t come here and change us.”
Nathan questioned Ellie’s claims – and her rude behavior. “Just because Carrie now comes in and takes the attention away from you, you become bitter? You become vengeful? It’s not all about you, Ellie,” Dekk said in acknowledgment.
Bri, who had her own drama with Ellie, felt the same way. “I understand why he’s upset that Aesha didn’t pick him to help with the decorations. But at the same time, fāā forget it,” Bri said to the camera. “Aesha is the main soup so she can pick whoever she wants.”
Later in the episode, Nathan secretly tells Aesha that Ellie is “talking sā” about her.
“Actually, when Carrie arrived (she felt) all her hard work was ignored. That angered me. You are the best girl in the world,” he said when Aesha replied, “It’s too young for a dog for a boat about how I’ve treated her so poor thing. If he wants to be the head of the stew, he has a lot to do.
Aesha and Ellie eventually part ways on good terms but neither is happy.
“I know we’ve had our differences, but I’m not going to cut you off if you’re such a hard worker,” Aesha told Ellie as she prepared to leave the boat and head home. “And you should be very proud of yourself.”
As for Ellie, she slammed the fact that she only “got one adjective” to describe her, adding, “I’m a hard worker. It’s like when your vibrator is half off and you’re like, ‘There’s nothing.’
Below Deck Mediterranean viewers have criticized Ellie’s behavior as the show has continued to air. In response to the backlash, Ellie released a statement in which she apologized for her actions while the cameras were rolling.
“All in all, I have a lot of time to think about my actions, and I’m very happy to have this opportunity to see myself through other people’s eyes,” said Ellie during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in August. “In our daily life, sometimes we are bastards to others, but we always see it from our point of view. And maybe we feel right because someone did what he deserved. But we will never see ourselves from someone else’s point of view else.
Ellie specifically talks about her regrets about her feud with Bri. (The duo disagreed after ending up in a love triangle with Joe. Neither of them ended the season with a lead.)
“I know that sometimes we are the villains in the story. And I was in the story of Bri and I really regret that,” Ellie continued at the time. “I should have been professional. I should have put my emotions aside. And I should have raised her rise and make him feel strong and find strength in himself. So I regret it.”
