President Donald Trump didn’t mince words this Saturday in Michigan, targeting Kamala Harris over her heavily promoted appearance with Beyoncé in Houston.
Conservative voices opposed Harris, accusing him and the media of misleading the public by promoting the pop icon’s presence as a concert performance – a claim that left the audience disappointed and angry when Beyoncé made only brief comments before exiting.
“Beyoncé came up and spoke for a few minutes and then left, and the place went crazy,” Trump told the crowd in Michigan, per Fox News.
“He booed the hell out of everyone. He thought he was going to perform. What happened was that my opponent got up and started talking, and they booed the hell out of him. It was crazy. They had to use people to get people to come, and then send a bus. We’re not sending the bus. We’re just going to make America great again.”
Trump’s senior adviser, Tim Murtaugh, shared his own reaction to X.
“MSNBC considered it news when the Harris campaign announced that Beyoncé would appear and perform at a rally in Texas. The pop star appeared but only talked and did not sing. She lied to build a crowd,” wrote Murtaugh.

Jason Miller, a spokesman for the Trump campaign, asked, “Why are Kamala Harris, Ian Sams, NBC News, HuffPost, USA TODAY, Vanity Fair and countless others telling us we got a show last night in Houston? What happened?”

Social media quickly erupted as frustrated attendees and conservative voices decried what they called a “bait-and-switch” tactic.
“BAIT & SWITCH: If Democrats needed more proof that Kamala Harris can’t be trusted, yesterday was the perfect example. Harris supporters were lured twice to an event to see Beyoncé perform only to hear her speak for four minutes before fleeing the scene. spent almost ten hours listening to Kamala speak for 20 minutes and Beyoncé for 4. She better hope these people have voted because if not I doubt they will be her…” Amuse wrote.

Trump’s War Room wrote, “UPDATE: Beyonce’s concert featuring Kamala has been a total and complete disaster that Kamala can barely be heard on the feed. Humiliating!”

The incident echoes a similar episode during the Democratic National Convention when rumors swirled that a mystery guest — potentially Beyoncé or another major celebrity — would endorse Harris.
White House Political Director Emmy Ruiz tweeted a cryptic bee emoji, which fans thought was a sign that Beyoncé would be making her entrance. News outlets like TMZ are reporting that Beyoncé is in Chicago preparing for a surprise performance, sparking high expectations. In the absence of such a performance, CNN’s Abby Phillip called out TMZ, saying, “TMZ lost credibility tonight.”
