Heart’s Ann Wilson shared a positive update on her health after announcing her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
“Now I’m doing really well, but it’s been, quite simply, too much. Chemo is no joke,” said Wilson in an audio message sent through his social media account on Wednesday, September 25. “It takes a lot out of people. Then there are two weeks waiting for the test results, it’s a form of mental torture. For anyone who has experienced it, I empathize big time.
Wilson continued, “Fortunately, for me, when the results finally came in, they were great!”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer said he is “done with chemo” and hopes to get back on the road with Heart in 2025.

liver singer Ann Wilson revealed that he recently underwent surgery for cancer and will take time away from the road, postponing it Royal Flush Tour with Cheap Tricks.
The rock legend, 74, announced via Instagram on Tuesday, July 2.
“Dear friends, I recently had surgery to remove something that turned out to be cancer,” he wrote. “The operation was successful and I feel good but the doctors have now advised me to undergo preventive chemotherapy & I have decided to do it.”
Wilson continued, “That’s why doctors have instructed me to stay away from the stage for the rest of the year to fully recover.”
The heart is scheduled to return to Royal Flush Tour together Cheap Tricks on July 30, with dates scheduled throughout North America through the end of the year.
The “Barracuda” singer did not specify the type of cancer he was suffering from.
In May, the band canceled the remainder of their European tour citing Wilson’s health and “a time-sensitive but routine medical procedure with a minimum recovery time of six weeks.”
After announcing his cancer diagnosis, Wilson boasted that he “absolutely plans” to return to the tour in 2025. “My team has sorted out the details & we will tell you the plan as soon as possible,” he said.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer thanked the band’s fans and closed his message with a message of hope.
“This is just a break,” Wilson wrote. “I have more to sing.”
Wilson noted his post would be his “final public statement” on the matter.
After the announcement, congratulations began for the respected vocalist from many famous fans and friends.
“You got this Ann!” comedian Loni Tresna comment via Instagram. “Get well soon and know that I am praying for your recovery.”
Actress and comedian Amy Sedaris comment with three red-heart emojis, when the actor Mark Hamill leave a “Get Well Soon” message for Wilson via X.
Bandmate and sister Nancy Wilson also posted about the diagnosis.
“HELLO dear Heartmongers and Noble Heart fans!” Nancy wrote via Instagram on Tuesday. “Welcome, you all know that the HEART tour is still coming, but we have to take a break for a while and postpone the remaining HEART tour dates. The rescheduled dates are still there, so stay tuned.
Nancy concluded, “From the end of the world to your town! See you soon. Can’t wait. Love rules.”
