Deal hunters, the countdown to Amazon Prime Day is officially on. Next month, Amazon will release a lot of delicious Apple discounts on the entire product line of the tech brand.
A two-day shopping bonanza, the Prime Day sale is always the perfect time to buy the latest Apple products you’ve seen, including the new AirPods, iPhones, iPads, MacBooks and Apple Watches at discounted prices. Since discounts on Apple products are rare at the best of times, you should make the most of these deals.
As well as Apple products, we’re also seeing tech staples and other home appliances get big discounts in the sale, from laptops, Amazon speakers and TVs to air fryers, cordless vacuum cleaners and, well, fans to help you beat the summer heat.
While we don’t know exactly what gadgets will be on sale this Prime Day, there are some early deals to be had on Amazon. Here’s a breakdown of when Amazon Prime Day might start and what to expect during the sale, as well as the best early Apple deals available right now.
When will Apple Prime Day deals start in 2024?
Amazon Prime Day 2024 will take place in July this year, although the e-commerce giant has not announced when exactly. But it’s pretty easy to guess. Looking at the previous Prime Day sale, you can expect the sale to start on Tuesday July 9th or Tuesday July 16th, and last for 48 hours.
We also expect Amazon to launch deals on Apple products before Prime Day. Last year, they announced a discount three weeks before the sale started.
This isn’t the first sale Amazon has had in recent months. The e-commerce behemoth brought us the so-called Prime Big Deal Days Sale in October last year, and ran Amazon’s Spring Deal Days Sale in March. However, these two events are small fry compared to the bonanza of summer deals that is Amazon Prime Day.
As the discounts drop, expect deals on Apple AirPods, iPads, Apple Watches and MacBooks. The device fell for the biggest price during the big sale on Amazon. Other devices, such as the iPhone and Apple TV also get discounts, but newer models usually don’t have the heaviest discounts.

If you’re always losing valuables (or afraid of losing them), you’ll want to pick up this pack of four AirTags. Now 21 percent off, AirTags can be attached to your belongings and viewed on a map with Find Me, plus you can get turn-by-turn directions when you’re too close. It comes with a battery included, which lasts more than a year.

Although it’s not the latest iPhone, the basic iPhone 14 is now 14 percent off on Amazon. “This is a fast and attractive smartphone, with an excellent design and quality from Apple, with today’s routine features, such as water resistance and a strong screen, and a better camera,” said the writer in the review. “The internal upgrades of the iPhone 14, from the camera to the crash detection, are quite incredible, all for less than the iPhone 13 pro, with the same processor.”

With a small discount of £20, the iPad 2022 is now cheaper than ever on Amazon. “The new design, faster processor, better display and larger size are easily affordable, and the new iPad is a real competitor to the iPad Air, which normally costs £170 more,” the author said in the review. “This is the best tablet under £500 from any manufacturer, in my opinion.”

Do you need Amazon Prime to buy Apple’s Prime Day deals?
You really are. While Amazon’s latest sales event – the Amazon Spring Deal Days Sale – is open to everyone, Amazon’s Prime Day sale is always locked to Prime customers, so you’ll need a subscription if you want to get Apple’s deals.
Amazon Prime membership costs £8.99 a month or £95 a year. Signing up couldn’t be easier, all you have to do is go to the Amazon Prime landing page and enter your details.
Savvy shoppers who don’t already have a Prime subscription will want to sign up for a free 30-day trial closer to July. Anyone who has not been a Prime member in the last 12 months is eligible to sign up for a trial.
