Now, they’ve moved on to the next item on their wishlist: Selena Gomez making her MCU debut.
It sounds crazy – except to be honest, it really isn’t. Actually, even crazier things have happened – and Disney has played on the idea!
Whispers Say Selena Gomez Appears in ‘Agatha All Along’
Every new MCU project brings rumors of exciting Marvel cameos. Some people get it right – like Jennifer Garner reprises her role as Elektra Deadpool.
So far, whispers of Taylor Swift playing Dazzler, a mutant pop star, haven’t happened.
Where on the spectrum does Selena Gomez Agatha Everything rumors fall? Well, let’s look at the context.
Claims Selena Gomez appears in some capacity in it Agatha Everything has been in circulation since the end of 2023.
It makes sense. She’s a very talented actress with many Disney ties, from her teenage acting days to Hulu. Just Murder In The Building. (More on this later).
Selena is also an amazing singer. Given that shows take the name of a WandaVision song and also co-stars Broadway legend Patti LuPone, Selena sounds like a perfect fit.
Adding his voice to Ballads of Witches Road would be sensational. But these are just a few reasons why they are so suitable.

Like the rest of the cast, she felt perfect for this witch role. That also feel like Marvel really leaned into market research on the LGBTQ + passionate audience WandaVision and decided to, as Erika Jayne says, “give the gays everything they want.”
When Aubrey took to Instagram to share a poster of her character ahead of September 18 Agatha Everything premiere, one comment in particular caught people’s attention.
Selena Gomez herself, the Queen of Instagram with almost half a billion followers, responded to Aubrey Plaza with a “fire” emoji.
Now, we’ve seen billionaire singers use Instagram to promote Marvel projects from people they admire. Taylor added Deadpool & Wolverine without looking at it. It is always possible that Selena does the same for Agatha Everything.
But this is only the first piece of a bigger puzzle!
It Makes Perfect Sense For Selena To Join The Coven
WandaVision chalk full of television references. Wanda Maximoff’s ability to distinguish reality has turned a town into a living sitcom, as if Once upon a time has a bigger budget and more consistent writing.
There is an important theory that Selena Gomez will reprise her role as Alex Russo Wizards of Waverly Place. We don’t know much about this potential context, except that there are many possibilities with precedent in the MCU.
Remember, Disney + is developing a Wizards of Waverly Place sequel series starring David Henrie. It’s smart to have a soft promo for the project. (And even if it doesn’t happen, rumors can only help the show)
As for the vehicle in which we can meet Alex Russo, Selena Gomez’s character … there are many possibilities. Remember, Agatha has been on live television shows before. Magical hijinks are almost inevitable.
Selena crosses over into the MCU – Kind of
We mentioned Only Murder In The Building before, and from October 2024, there is no bigger show for the House of Mouse than Selena’s joint effort with Steve Martin and Martin Short and Agatha’s debut All Along.
With that in mind, and perhaps putting to rest the feverish demand to see Selena in the MCU, Disney is giving a big hint that it’s not such a far-fetched idea with a new promo for the show!
In the video, Agatha takes over Arconia, speaking directly to Selena’s character Mabel via a wireless radio in her apartment. Agatha even appears in the window of the now famous NYC apartment complex in the opening credits.
Is it just a PR stunt to promote the show? Of course, but it proves that the cross is possible – so maybe this is just the beginning?
Fan Theories Keep Making Money

Since the appearance of Joe Locke in the trailer as “Teen”, fans have speculated that he will be an important character in the MCU. And they are so true!
In the fifth episode, Agatha Everything Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan, is one of Marvel’s best comic characters. Billy is more than Scarlet Witch’s son and Magneto’s grandson – he’s incredibly powerful.
Remember Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez from Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness? In the comics, he was the demiurge who created his home world before the two became friends.
Billy Kaplan brings us one step closer to having a solid Young Avengers starting lineup. But we really need Teddy Altman (Hulkling, that’s Skrull and Kree).
But more than anything, it proves that fans are following what Disney is playing with this series. So, if the Wiccan theory can be true, why not Selena!
