Janelle Brown claimed at the latest Sister Wife episode that there is “separateness” in it Robyn Brown and Kody Brownhis house – and all the children feel it.
“My children, like, they were scolded if they opened the refrigerator Robyn,” Janelle, 55, said during the Sunday, September 29, episode of the TLC series.
Janelle, who split from Kody, 55, in 2022 after 30 years together, insisted that Kody’s children with his first three wives were never given attention while Robyn, 45, entered the plural family. (Kody legally married Robyn in 2014 after divorcing his first wife Meri Brown. Meri, 53, and Kody remained spiritually married until they separated in 2023. Kody’s third wife, Christine Brownleaving him in November 2021.)
According to Janelle, the tension isn’t because her kids don’t like Robyn, but because Robyn allows Kody to not divide his time equally between the rest of the household.
“My kids have always — like, from the beginning — they know their dad isn’t always going to be there,” Janelle told the camera. “I definitely feel that Kody and Robyn mishandled the situation with their kids.” (Kody and Janelle had six children before their son Garrison died in March 2024. He was 25 years old.)
Janelle said Kody “can’t go more than three or four days because Ari is so sad or something,” referring to Kody and Robyn’s 8-year-old son. The couple also shared their son Solomon, 12, and Kody adopted Robyn’s three older children from previous marriages.
“I think I’m a bad parent,” Janelle quips. “Throughout our whole family history, other kids do it. It’s okay.”
Robyn denied that her children received special treatment while the plural family was still together. He admitted that Ari “loves his dad” and “wants to be close to his dad” but said it doesn’t affect Kody’s time with the other kids.
“Does this ever prevent Kody from going to another mother’s house? No, no,” said Robyn. “I won’t allow it.”
Robyn added that Meri, who shared Leon with Kody, “very accepting” of the three older children “on board.” However, she said that “other families are really struggling to accept me and my children” and noted that all she wants is “to be a part of this family.”
Christine, who has six children with Kody, explained that her children did not want to visit Kody at Robyn’s house because of the interaction with adults.
“My kids don’t like going there because they see Robyn and her dad as a couple and they’re not at our house,” Christine, 52, said. “He’s frustrated at a lot of things.”
Kody had a different version of events, saying, “Christine and I were always romantic at her house, and I think we forgot about it.”
As tensions boiled over with her sister’s husband and children, Robyn told the camera that she was “grieving” and “grieving” all the relationships she lost. “(I’m) dealing with some depression of my own situation,” she shared.
Robyn added: “It’s very sad and I miss my family.”
