Jeremy Clarkson has responded to complaints from customers about his new Cotswold pub, The Farmer’s Dog.
Punters have complained about long queues to enter the £1,000,000 boozer and the cost of food in restaurants.
However, the 64-year-old Clarkson’s Farm star urged everyone to be ‘good’ as she is still dealing with teething problems.
He wrote in The Times: ‘We are getting better now, but I ask, if you stop by, remember this.
‘Your lunch, when it comes, costs us more than it costs you. So help each other.’
It comes after fan Jeremy ‘livid’ Billy and his wife Emma fumed after waiting in line for 30 minutes to have a pint in the pub.
He told Express Online: ‘We arrived for lunch around 1pm and everyone was waiting in line without announcing that the kitchen was closed. Why not tell people before standing outside for 30 minutes?’
He insists the bar food is ‘rubbish’, with items on offer including ‘pickled eggs, four sausages on a dipping plate, and a scotch egg that doesn’t look good’.
Billy, who had traveled from Southend, Essex to the Cotswolds to eat at the pub, raved it was ‘never going back.’
Fans also blasted the food and drink prices when Jeremy shared a picture of the pub’s menu on Instagram.
According to LadBible, which then listed the prices of the food offered on the menu, the main prices range from £15 for vegetables and cheddar crumble, to £19 for a Lancashire hot pot.
There are also small dishes on offer, including chicken liver pate with onion chutney for £9 and garlic mushrooms with poached egg for £8.
Jeremy previously stated that he only sold ‘UK grown or raised’ products at The Farmer’s Dog but he was unable to meet this target.
‘I have tried my hardest to ensure that every item consumed at The Farmer’s Dog is grown or raised by British farmers. And I have failed,’ he shared on the pub’s website.
‘Yes, pork, beef, lamb and venison are all British. And almost everything else. Milk, butter, eggs, vegetables and fruits. We even cook in English oil.
‘But there are some problems like, for example, a simple G&T.’
He explained: ‘You can’t have a pub that doesn’t serve gin and tonics. But there’s quinine in tonic water, and you can’t grow it in Britain. ‘
Many fans also praised Jeremy’s new venture with TripAdvisor user Pippinsfolly saying: ‘The menu is what you would expect from a good pub and it did not disappoint.
‘The quality of the ingredients is excellent and the staff are very hard working and friendly. Sure, beer and cider are great, cold and thirsty.’
The Farmer’s Dog first opened to the public on August 23 after Jeremy bought the establishment in Asthall, near Burford in Oxfordshire, earlier this year.
