Bonnie Wright is the newest familiar face to team up with Prince William for the Earthshot Prize competition.
At Harry Potter actress, 33, has been named as one of the five presenters in the new environmental challenge collaboration with Blue Peterthe world’s longest running children’s show.
“We’re looking for a generation of young inventors, problem solvers and change makers; give viewers the chance to be recognized by Prince William,” the official CBBC social media account captioned a video posted via Instagram on Friday, September 5. who needs help.”
The post then names five “Earthshot Champions” who will “introduce the topic and present Blue Peter a movie about protecting the planet.”
Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in all eight Potter films, will present Clean Our Air, while a wildlife TV presenter. Steve Backshall will present Fix Our Climate. Hamza Yasin – a wildlife camera operator, conservationist and TV presenter – will tackle Protect and Restore Nature, filmmaker Inka Creswell will feature Revive Our Oceans and content creators Sam Bentley will take Build a Waste Free World.
“I started the Earthshot Prize to find solutions to the world’s biggest environmental challenges and we want to find a generation of young inventors who can make a difference,” William said in a press release via the BBC.

The competition closes on Monday, October 28, and the winner will be announced in 2025.
Wright’s involvement with William’s Earthshot Prize should come as no surprise, as he is an outspoken environmentalist. In June, the actress attended the Hollywood Climate Summit alongside the HGTV star Jonathan Scott and he Walk slowly collaborator Pattie Gonia.
“Extraordinary panel on ‘central storytelling: unscripted television,'” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “Thank you @hollywoodclimatesummit, so excited to share the stage with our fellow storytellers! We even shared a never-before-seen trailer for the @gogently.earth TV show.”
In 2022, Wright released his book, Go Slow: Actionable Steps to Take Care of Yourself and the Planet, which gives tips to the reader about “changing your habits, living more sustainably and taking action.”
Wright revealed that he was shooting a TV spin-off of the same name in May. He also hosts Walk slowly YouTube channel.
“It’s been about a year in development from a very early concept to the show. The last few months, the show has been the main focus while organizing all the guests and activities,” he wrote via the Go Gently website. “It’s been good enough to plan, luckily, I have a great production team to work with. I’m really excited for this trip where we’ll meet a lot of people who inspire me and see a lot of beautiful landscapes.
