We recently had the blessed chance to escape the worst of the Mumbai monsoon with a short getaway to Goa. Rosetta Hospitality has come up with a new luxury property in South Goa called Elements by Rosetta Varca Goa and we spent a relaxing weekend checking out their offerings. The hotel is about two kilometers from Varca Beach and is located on a quaint side street surrounded by lush vegetation. We drive down to the hotel (and subsequent trips to and from sightseeing spots) were through a serenely beautiful route crossing quiet settlements, chapels, plantations and natural water bodies. It is the kind of picturesque paradise South Goa is often associated with.
We checked into the room on the first floor and the first thing we noticed was how spacious it was! Some non-resort properties can have rooms that are a bit cramped which detracts from the holiday atmosphere, but you won’t face that problem here. The decor has a minimalist style, with brown and white accents. The room is well-equipped with standard fittings and facilities. There is a writing desk where we managed to finish some work despite the tempting view of the pool below.
Other rooms also boast bathtubs and outdoor jacuzzis, we were told. Those who don’t want to swim can also relax at the Collins Bar by the pool, spa or gym. Those traveling with children should note that there is a dedicated children’s playground on the property as well as a family activity center called Rosetta Engage. Jai Sreedhar, Joint Managing Director of Rosetta Hospitality, said, “We believe our new property will resonate with travelers who value quality and sophistication without compromising on affordability.” He also clarified that the new hotel aims to “bring Rosetta Hospitality to Goa and not vice versa.”
The property also has versatile spaces for various occasions: a 4000 sq. ft. grand ballroom, a 5000 sq. ft. outdoor patio, and spacious boardrooms for conferences and meetings. Errol Fernandes, Chairman and Managing Director of Rosetta Hospitality highlighted that the hotel aims to attract a diverse clientele, including corporate groups, wedding parties, and leisure travelers.
The swimming pool and adjacent grounds form the center of the property – the accommodation wing (currently with a total of 74 rooms) and the reception building are located on the fourth side. The main building, which also houses the restaurant – Cucina Rosetta – is just a short walk away from most of the rooms. We enjoyed a sumptuous buffet breakfast each day of the trip in the main restaurant. The spread is colorful and well put together. Along with South Indian and English breakfast staples, the restaurant also includes delicious North Indian food. However, we like to have more local Goan delicacies as part of the buffet. There are live counters for dosas, eggs, waffles, pancakes and more – most of which are easily customizable on request. In addition, we enjoy fresh food, salads, juices and more to complete our meal before heading out to explore the area.
We also enjoyed the choice of lunch and dinner Cucina Rosetta delicacies through the buffet meal. North Indian cuisine, including the hearty Rajasthani, is especially for us. Kebabs and tikkas, as well as classic gravies, are delicious and satisfying. While you can also enjoy Pan-Asian and Italian offerings, don’t miss your chance to taste Goan food while you’re here. Apart from favorites like Vindaloo, Xacuti and Cladine, the a la carte menu also features a “Goan dining experience” (with veg and non-veg options). We pair our food with great classic cocktails made with premium spirits, including local libations like feni. Several meals made us realize that Elements by Rosetta caters to a variety of tastes and preferences, and tries to provide options that will please different categories of travelers.
Elements by Rosetta Varca Goa kept us relaxed and comfortable during our short trip to South Goa. If you’re looking for a reliable option for your next destination vacation or event, try this cozy new hotel.
