Jenas: ‘I can’t talk about it. As you can see, I am not happy.
‘But as it is now, I have to let the lawyers deal with it.
‘There are two sides to every story, as we know, so that’s all I can say for now.’
TalkSPORT interviewer: ‘It has been reported that you sent unwanted texts to a female member of staff on The One Show, is that true?’
Jenas: ‘Like I said, I’m not happy with this situation, I’ll talk to my lawyer about it, that’s all I can say for now.’
TalkSPORT interviewer: ‘Can you elaborate on the complaint you made, what it relates to?’
Jenas: ‘No.’
TalkSPORT interviewer: ‘Is it about one colleague or more than one?’
Jenas: ‘I have to talk to my lawyer about this situation.
‘I certainly, as you can see, as I said, my reaction, I’m not very happy about this result, but I have to leave it in the hands of the lawyers now.’
TalkSPORT interviewer: ‘Are you surprised that there is a complaint against you?’
Jenas: ‘I can’t say … maybe a lot … I can’t say now, I have to leave it in the hands of the lawyer like I said.
‘It’s hard, you know, there’s always two sides to it.’
TalkSPORT interview: ‘Just a couple of logistical questions, when did the BBC tell you you were sacked?’
Jenas: ‘I can’t talk about that unfortunately. All this is with my lawyer, and I will certainly – as I said – respond through my lawyer.’
TalkSPORT Interviewer: ‘I really appreciate what you’re doing, I’m sure you can understand why I’m just going to ask you…’
Jenas: ‘Yes, you have a job.’
TalkSPORT interviewer: ‘When did you first know a complaint had been made?’
Jenas: ‘I can’t talk about it.’
TalkSPORT interviewer: ‘You’ve talked about legal proceedings, have they been done or are you in the process?’
Jenas: ‘I can’t talk about it.’
TalkSPORT interviewer: ‘Do you feel anyone should apologize for this and leave the BBC or not at this stage?’
Jenas: ‘I can’t talk about it now, I have to leave it to my legal team, which… This is difficult, but I have to… listen to my lawyer.’
TalkSPORT interviewer: ‘It’s been a while that if you don’t like it, you instruct your lawyer and there are two sides to every story, and that’s what happened here.
‘Do you see any reason why you can’t move forward in sports presentation, or in the industry as a whole?’
Jenas: ‘I can’t talk about it now.
TalkSPORT interviewer: ‘I appreciate your time, thank you very much.’
Jenas: ‘Thank you very much.’
Second reporter: ‘Can I just say, Jermaine, I can see that you’re really angry, and I’m very happy…’
Jenas: ‘Yes, is this still on?’
Second reporter: ‘Yes, we are still recording.’
Jenas: ‘Can it be killed?’
The second reporter: ‘I just want to ask you this on the tape, I can see that you are fuming, and I know that there are certain things that you cannot talk about.
‘But you are a major BBC star, can you express your emotions now towards the BBC and about this incident?’
Jenas: ‘I can’t talk about it.’
Second reporter: ‘You can talk about how you feel inside.’
Jenas: ‘No, I can’t talk about it. As I said, there are always two sides to all of this, and my lawyer will take over from now on.’
Second reporter: ‘When do you expect your side to air? What kind of timescale are you hoping to get your side of the story out?’
Jenas: ‘I can’t… sorry I can’t say give you anything… I can’t talk about that.’
Second reporter: ‘Do you have anything to add?’
Jenas: ‘No, I respect your position and the questions you asked, and thank you very much for your time.’
