“Do you have the distance now? Like, if you look – because it’s everywhere – if you look Friends (episode), did it affect you in any way or just—” O’Brien asked.
“Well, I used to not be able to watch it. I mean, I would look at it and be, like, a little interested and then I would look at myself and say ‘Enough, I can’t. bear it,’ and then – well, listen, after Matthew died, I can start watching the show again because it’s not about me, it’s about them,” Kudrow explained.
“And so I started watching Friends. It didn’t start like season one, you know, but there was a marathon and I’ve spent time, since he died, all day watching the show.
Perry starred as Chandler for all 10 seasons of the hit series alongside Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox and Matt LeBlanc. The show, which is one of the most popular TV series of all time, follows the lives of six characters as they explore love, careers, and friendships in New York City.
“Especially now you can see—and you can love the show, you can love Matthew, you can love what he’s doing,” O’Brien continued.
Kudrow added: “Everyone is so funny to me.”

However, the former late-night host said that when he saw Perry on the show, he disagreed with Kudrow.
“You’re the funniest person I know, one of the funniest people I know … that’s just a fact. But he’s so big – I think that Chandler’s character, when I read it, I thought ‘Oh, he’s got character good gay,'” Kudrow said as O’Brien laughed.
“I thought—that’s all I heard, that’s all I heard, you know? So, at the table reading, I just took a double take at him, ‘Oh God.’ I never in a million years can imagine who plays a character like that and with his own rhythm and everything, it’s his own.
O’Brien and Kudrow agreed that Perry had “perfect timing.”
Perry was found dead at her Los Angeles home on October 28 and was buried in a service for family and friends on November 3. Kudrow, Aniston, Schwimmer, Cox and LeBlanc released a joint statement two days after Perry was found unresponsive, expressing their mutual grief.

“Shooted the pilot, Friends Like Us, immediately picked up, we were at the NBC Upfronts. Then … You suggested that we play poker and have fun when we first got together. Thank you,” wrote Kudrow on Instagram.
