It’s no secret that what makes a man’s machine run.
While a perfectly tailored suit in a person can do it for some, others prefer a more ‘cancelled’ look, and there is a fine line between dirty talk that makes you climax – or cringe.
And now, a popular Reddit thread has seen people share things that are ‘supposed to be sexy’, but do nothing.
From kinks to sex in unusual places, there is no shortage of surprising killing confessions, with nearly 5,000 people eager to reveal what they have quickly left the bedroom.
Perhaps you can relate – or maybe it’s a case of one person’s trash, another person’s pleasure…
The ‘father’ is tired
The term ‘father’ has been used in sexual contexts for literally hundreds of years – in the 1600s, sex workers used the term to refer to pimps.
But just because it’s old, it’s not necessarily good. In fact, daddy kink is the most commonly called death.
‘All dom dads disgust me,’ wrote @Sufficient-Berry-827.

Many others agree.
‘Call the boy’s father. Eww…why? Why do I want to picture my dad during sex? Like wtf,’ added @Asaddenpup.
@Oceanbreeze871, the real dad, also explained the reason. ‘”Daddy” or “pappi”. I’m a father. I don’t want to be called like that by a woman who is in the middle of (having sex).’
Others shared their feelings about being called dad, with @BloodReyvyn admitting ‘nothing will make me faster’, while @Cichlidsaremyjam said: ‘Speak baby and call me “daddy”. You can go straight stupid with those two.’
You can say that you should double check with your partner before screaming ‘daddy’ in bed.
There is a time and a place
When it comes to where, why and how to take action, people always have an opinion.
We’ve all seen that moment on TV when a couple is in the middle of an argument, then they pause and before you can blink, they suddenly rip each other’s clothes off, breaking several households in the process.
But making sex is considered totally unsexy by Redditors. @Cat-Falco couldn’t find this concept less attractive. She wrote: ‘There’s nothing I’d rather have than having someone I’m mad at try to be weird with me instead of communicating and resolving the issue.’
Shower sex also has its critics. @socal01 said: ‘Shower sex is overrated, partly because my husband likes magma temperature water.’
That together with the danger of slipping, lack of lubricant and space that means the shower is not the best place for some X-rated fun.
Classic 69 is another act that people find difficult. @Phersephone_Kore question: ‘How should I concentrate on one thing or another?’
For @sakumm3 her unsexy behavior was ‘tongue in ear’, a comment that got over 4,000 votes on Reddit with many agreeing.
‘I don’t mind earlobes,’ @sakumm3 added, ‘but I hate the sound of tongues in my ears.’
Dress for the occasion
There is an entire industry dedicated to selling lingerie, but the truth is, some people don’t bother.
“I don’t find lingerie sexy, me or any other woman. Now, plain clothes worn provocatively, you got me,” wrote @CassandraAusten.
As for @TwistedBlister, he agreed, writing: ‘Cage. Women in T-shirts and plain white cotton panties are sexier to me.’
@starglitterx added: ‘There was an episode of Community where Donald Glover said he was more turned on by women in pajamas than lingerie. That hit hard.’
The comment in particular has 17,000 likes, so it might save you £100 on sexy clothes if you don’t. self feel sexy.
Men in suits and women in schoolgirl outfits are also considered rude, and those who are still less so.
Degradation
Last on the list is degradation, a confession that is mostly from women.
‘As a woman it must be degrading to me,’ wrote @TheSun-IcarusFellFor. ‘He called me a whore or a whore or if I was “defined as a whore” it made me drier than the king’s Sahara Desert.
‘I don’t know, it makes me feel like they want to hurt me and I don’t like that.’
Degradation doesn’t just have to be verbal. @Gail37 shared: ‘It was given, like ☹️☹️ I don’t want it.’
BDSM can also feel degrading or controlling to those who don’t find it turning on.
‘I’m not a rude person,’ wrote @visual_philosopher73. ‘But I read four to five random pages of 50 Shades of Gray and had to put it down.
‘It just comes across like nothing anyone should ever tolerate in a real relationship, BDSM or not.’
