“16 and Pregnant” alum Autumn Crittendon’s cause of death has been revealed as “toxic from fentanyl and para-fluorofentanyl.”
The Virginia Department of Health confirmed to TMZ on Monday that a “combination of drugs” took the 27-year-old’s last life and the manner of his death was “accidental.”
Crittendon, whose legal last name is Oxley, died on July 20 after being found “unresponsive” at his home.
Para-fluorofentanyl is listed as a “synthetic opioid analgesic” according to the Michigan Poison & Drug Information Center. The drug was originally “synthesized for research purposes” in the 60s.
When Crittendon died last summer, a representative from the Henrico County Police Department in Virginia told Page Six that paramedics “attempted life-saving measures.”
Despite their efforts, first responders were unsuccessful and the MTV alum was “pronounced dead at the scene.”
At the time, we were told that the police department was “classifying this incident as a death investigation” and that “detectives are working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on this case to determine the cause and manner of death.”
Crittendon was reportedly found by his stepfather at the home he, his mother and children had left, according to a July 22 TMZ report.
The former reality TV personality welcomed son Drake, 10, with Dustin Franklin in December 2013.
Crittendon then had another son and daughter, who were almost 5 and almost 2, respectively.
At the time of her death, a source told TMZ that the Season 5 alum had been suffering from heartburn and was ill.
Crittendon was also reportedly diagnosed with diabetes and suffered from kidney problems.
Her sister, Misty Crittendon, first announced Autumn’s death in a since-deleted Facebook post on July 21.
“You were robbed at such a young age, you left before anyone could say goodbye to you. your life, how far you’ve come, how thankful I am for all these years with you, how proud you are as a mother, thank you for the 3 little parts of your heart. who still walks this earth,” Misty wrote in part.
He continued, “Half of me died with you yesterday and I honestly don’t know how I’m ever going to recover from this.
“I pulled up to see all the vehicles, the ambulance was empty .. and jumped out of the truck as soon as I could beg the paramedics and the police to say that you are okay and they are only working to keep you alive there .. But my worst fears were confirmed and I fell on the road.
