Wilder vs Zhang LIVE: Fight updates and …

Below is a report from the event.

Zhang continued to move forward. He lands a good cross, but the next one lands on Wilder.

And more! Suddenly the Americans opened up here!

Zhang blocks the cross and lands one of his own.

A clubbing right hook lands for Wilder, but is countered by a right hook from Zhang and out on his feet!!!

He spins around, and Zhang lands another right, which FOLD Wilder!!

He somehow beat the ref’s count, but was waved off! Americans are laughing!!

Queensberry 10-0 Matchroom!

Zhang misses with an uppercut but digs a short right to the body.

Wilder thumps his chest, trying to fire himself up, after recoils wildly under the pressure of Zhang.

Zhang jabs to the midriff, and again, after Wilder overshoots immediately.

A cross attempt from Wilder skids off Zhang’s arm. Others came up short.

Wilder, back up, throws a cross to the body. He flicked out a few jabs, but also out of range.

Zhang followed with a decent left cross. Wilder seemed hesitant to submit to the right hand, in which case he was countered by “Big Bang”.

Wilder tests out a couple of crosses, but doesn’t enough land … Zhang left directly to the body, then one above.

The Chinese heavyweight parries several teasing jabs from Wilder, who tries a left hook to no avail.

An uppercut for Zhang, and he feels finished!!

He pours the hook on Wilder, who is trapped in the corner! Wilder covers, but some of these shots go through…

Eventually Wilder breaks free and swings a right, but how much damage does he absorb there?

He got the bell with his safest fist. He seemed very cautious.

Zhang continued forward, pawing with his lead hand from his usual south position.

Wilder tried several orthodox crosses throughout the round, but they were wide and/or short each time.

A tentative start from the two of them.

One more fight: Deontay Wilder vs. Zhilei Zhang.

Wilder is the captain of the Matchroom, but even if he wins, loses and doubles the points for the American, he can’t save Hearn now; it’s all over.

Can Zhang close the night quest for Queensberry with a win, though?

This should be a lot of fun, either way. And it might be the last for anyone who loses…

Jab on top, cross down by Dubois. He immediately went after Hrgovic, whose left eye was a TOTAL mess.

Dubois behind his old sparring partner up to the ropes, and started a huge hook! Hrgovic’s defense has deserted him.

The referee, Howard Foster, has asked the ringside doctor to check Hrgovic’s cut… The doctor whispered in the ref’s ear…

AND THE BATTLE IS WAVE OFF! DUBOIS gets the TKO!

Queensberry 8-0 Matchroom! There’s no way back for Matchroom, it’s all over!

Dubois handed Hrgovic his first pro loss and collected the IBF interim heavyweight title.

Anthony Joshua could be next for Dubois, at Wembley in September…

Dubois goes right in with a jab and a left hook – definitely a neat little combination.

Hrgovic had a long cut over his right eye, but his left eyebrow was now also bleeding.

Dubois burst out! Hrgovic looks very tired, like he could go down at any moment!

Two fierce left hooks from Dubois. And the right hand! Hrgovic just stood up…

Dubois was warned by the ref for leading with his head.

Both men looked a bit tired, and it was evident in the technique of each heavyweight. Hrgovic and Dubois often put themselves down when throwing.

Good footwork by Dubois; step back, and again, let Hrgovic output, then fire again with well-timed jabs.

Hrgovic lands a short left cross now, though, at close range. Dubois catches the Croatian and looks like he’s going for a double leg!

He lets loose and unleashes jabs. This has become a war of attrition.
