A few months after the beautiful and talented Victoria Monet appeared at the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday, June 30, she revealed her sadness about her love life.
He and his longtime love are no more, their relationship is over. But the question remains: did Victoria ever marry her BF John Gaines? Did he divorce his wife or leave his lover?

Victoria Monet and John Gaines have been together for a long time.
The two clearly meant a lot to each other, although they kept it low profile initially. In fact, avoiding public relations early on may be the key to success.
But in December 2020, things became more public – because Victoria and John were expecting their first child.
In addition to their love for each other, Victoria Monet and her boyfriend John Gaines share a daughter, Hazel.
The couple welcomed a baby girl in February 2021.
Before the pregnancy announcement, the biggest relationship between them – in the public eye – was that Gaines had appeared in the 2020 music video for “Moment”.

In September 2021, just half a year after the birth of her daughter, she discussed the topic.
Victoria spoke to The point is about the prospect of marrying Gaines, saying marriage is “a plan, definitely.”
But it doesn’t look like that game plan ever came to fruition. If anything, the couple is so focused on their daughter, everything else is a bit lost
In the same interview, he continued, gushing: “We really love and enjoy our new chapter.” So, clearly, there is no rush.
“(Hazel has) really been wrapped in her fingers,” Victoria Monet said about her daughter.
“And,” he continued, “I’ve seen him change in ways that I know he didn’t expect.”
Victoria characterized the experience of being a parent to her infant daughter: “She raised us.”
Victoria Monet and John Gaines Keep Complimenting Each Other, Until They Don’t
In May 2023, Gaines took to Instagram to celebrate Victoria on Mother’s Day.
“I couldn’t ask for a better example of a woman for @itshazelmonet,” he praised. “You are killing this mother thing my love. I’m proud of you and I love you.”
Victoria replied in the comments, quickly: “I love you and I would not be half a mother without you and all the ways you support me!”
But in 2023. At the beginning of 2024, fans began to suspect that something was wrong.
It became more of a conversation about Victoria having an ex than a husband.
And then the hammer came down.
Victoria Monet and John Gaines announce the end of their relationship
Posting on her Instagram story on September 23, 2024, Victoria announced that she and John are no longer together.
“We have spent the last 10 months trying to respectfully and privately come to terms with the fact that we are no longer in a relationship. Although we still love and respect each other, we are no longer a couple,” the joint statement said.
Note that they say “couple” not “partner”. Technical, but worth mentioning. He continued:
“We still think the world and act with love in every interaction for our family. We have an amazing daughter to live with and will always be our #1 priority. No relationship status can erase or change that fact. We are committed to doing inner work and trust that God will place us both in the right place at the right time.
