He called MLK Jr a “commie bastard” who was “worse than a maggot” and a ‘huckster.’ He also called Muslims “little bastards” and wrote that if “Muslims take over, liberals will be the first to be beheaded.”
When Trump Reportedly warned about Robinson and his gubernatorial candidacy, including his remarks disparaging the civil rights movement and mocking the victims of school shootings, Trump did not care even though Robinson called child survivors who advocated for gun control “media prosti-tots,” he accused. Michelle Obama is a man, freely using the slur ‘hebe,’ a common pejorative term for Jews, and suggesting that they send violent protesters to Elysian Fields.
Trump seems to have learned his lesson, as he recently held an event in North Carolina where Robinson was neither mentioned nor invited. Meanwhile, several top operatives in Robinson’s gubernatorial campaign have quit, and Trump’s former acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney admitted he was “being weighed against an unpopular Republican gubernatorial candidate.”
Trump now has a narrow lead Harris (49% to 47%), and when North Carolina leans Republican, there is always the danger of reverse coattails.
