Famous fashion publicist, who is friends with Anna Delveytook to her Instagram Stories on Friday, September 23, to slam Chmerkovskiy’s criticism of Delvey. Dance With The Stars debut. Cutrone posted a screenshot of a TMZ headline quoting Chmerkovskiy calling Delvey a “s–y dancer.”
“I thought it said SEX!!!” the 58-year-old wrote, tagging Chmerkovskiy. “What do you mean Sassy or are you so sad that you can’t be on the show you have to attack other people? No one cares what you think.”
He added, “Dance yourself into a new reality.”

Earlier in the day, Chmerkovskiy, 44, ex DWTS pro, appeared on “TMZ Podcast” and denounced ABC alma mater for casting Delvey, 33, a convicted felon.
“For me, (Delvey’s) job is that of a professional liar,” he told the outlet, adding, “You’re going to bring that person (on stage) and say, ‘This is the platform that a lot of people have been waiting their entire careers for. To be a part of, ‘also get a personal story moment (where they) can say, ‘This is what I am right.’ Am I going to believe what this woman says? Absolutely not.”
Frankly, he judged Delvey’s routine as “poor” and “very standoffish.”
“You can blame it on nerves and say, ‘Hey, it’s all human and this guy is unusual at that stage.’ Bull—,” he said. “Hold on a second – doesn’t she expect people to believe she’s like that and special like that? And that takes a lot of guts. It takes a lot of self-control to present yourself a certain way, even if you’re nervous. I don’t buy this ‘she’s nervous’ thing. She is a dancer, and her personality will not help her in this competition.

Delvey was famously arrested in 2017 and charged with multiple counts of grand larceny and misdemeanor theft. He was released from prison on parole in 2021 and placed under house arrest a year later after being arrested for overstaying his visa.
Delvey’s DWTS partner, Ezra Sosa, defend him theresaid, “I know what he did is controversial and not right, and I can’t justify that for him and anyone in his life. It’s difficult for me because this is a person that I love every day in rehearsals, isn’t it someone who appears in the media. No one deserves to be hated now. They deserve a second chance.”
Cutrone, who appeared as a tough-talking mentor on MTV The Hills and Cityhad taken Delvey under his wing, inviting him to live in his home outside New York City. This month, she put on several shows for New York Fashion Week.
“Anna saw Kelly as someone she wanted when she came to New York, and when Kelly met Anna, she fell in love with her,” the fashion designer said. Shao Yang recently told Vanity Fair. “I think having both of them is, like, literally a powerhouse.”
