Joe Budden Talks About Drake’s Petition Against Universal Music Group
In a recent episode of Joe Budden’s podcast, Joe doesn’t hold back when he talks about Drake taking his pettiness to a whole new level with two legal filings against Universal Music Group. Joe immediately called Drake “selfish and manipulative,” even calling out ‘Rich Baby Daddy’ for doing some grimey things behind the scenes.
“Or he is a selfish, lying, manipulative sack, who has been making enemies for 15 years. And now where is the f*****g boiling point. You have been behind the scenes as the biggest sack of s**t you can It can be… And it’s a white f****g, and it’s too much of a list on the chip. You’ve been behind the screen, sending money to the baby’s mothers for his **** wife … Dawg, this **** s already a sack of s**t behind the scenes and because he’s a fan and Lucien, everybody’s just a blind eye. The days of blindness are over,” said Budden in the pod.

Here is the Tea On Drizzy Universal Music Group Petition
Drake has been chattin’ the internet when he decided to take his beef with Kendrick Lamar to court earlier this week. As TSR previously reported, instead of suing Kendrick Lamar directly, the Canadian rapper is going after Universal Music Group. He reportedly accused the label of using a “payola scheme” and bot to drop K.Dot’s diss track ‘Not Like Us’, according to TMZ.
Drizzy also claimed he got information from an “inside source” at UMG who said the label paid platforms, including radio stations and influencers, to make the track. He also allegedly questioned how quickly the song would spread on streaming services like Spotify. If true, Drake allegedly has evidence to show UMG “violated” the payola law.
Universal Music Group Responds To Drake
Universal Music Group isn’t letting Drizzy off easy. The label denied the allegations, with a spokesperson denying the claims from the petition on November 25.
“The suggestion that UMG will do anything to harm the artist is offensive and untrue. We use the highest ethical practices in our marketing and promotion campaigns. No legal objections have been made and the absurdity of this pre-action post can cover up the fact that the fans choose the music they want to hear,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
UMG also told Variety in a separate statement that fans, not labels, decide what music they want to hear. “No amount of legal argument made and the absurdity of this pre-action post can cover up the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear.”
