Week 3 for the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFL season will forever be known as Jayden Daniels’ breakout game.
As for the Cincinnati Bengals, they are at a loss for words, as they are now 0-3 on the season after being defeated, 38-33, at home by Daniels & Co.
The Commanders are now 2-1 on the season, and that has a lot to do with the No. 1 overall pick. the first two career passing touchdowns in 21-of-23 through the air.

And just like he did earlier this season, Daniels can also find the end zone with his feet. The biggest highlight of the night, however, came on the Commander’s final drive, as the league got to see what Daniels was made of.
On 4th-and-4 from Cincinnati’s 39-yard line, Daniels didn’t want to get off the field, and he invited offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury to play in the helmet to set up the offense. . At that point, the Commanders led just 31-26 after Joe Burrow found Ja’Marr Chase for the second time of the night in the end zone.
Daniels, exuding confidence, took a snap and sent a point to tight end Zach Ertz for a nine-yard game to move the chains and continue to take the clock off the scoreboard.

Burrow and the Bengals offense tried to use the two minutes left on the clock for some magic, and even though Zack Moss was able to go in to make it 38-32 at the end of the period, the Bengals were unable to return the onside kick. The Commander, then, pulled off a stunner at the Paycor Stadium.
Cincinnati comes into this game knowing that no team has ever made the playoffs in the modern era after going 0-3. So, while it’s a cliché, it’s true: This is a must-win game for the Bengals in my mind.
And Burrow came out firing when he found Chase on a 41-yard touchdown pass to quickly go up by seven on the Commanders.
But Washington’s offense set the tone early, as they responded with a touchdown of their own, crushing it with 6:12 left in the first quarter to see Brian Robinson go through a hole and into the end zone.
Washington would go on to score on its first three drives, and they all came on the ground as Austin Ekeler, who left the game with a head injury, scored on a 24-yard rush and Daniels stayed on the read option. for the score.
At the end of the first half, the Commanders were up, 21-13, and they quickly furthered the lead in the first drive of the second half, and it would be Daniels’ first career through a touchdown. However, the recipient is not who they expect.
