The Israeli strike killed 356 Lebanese, including 24 children, in the biggest attack since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war as the Israeli military warned residents in southern and eastern Lebanon to evacuate their homes ahead of an air campaign against Hezbollah. Thousands of Lebanese fled south, and the highway leading out of the southern port city of Sidon was jammed with cars heading to Beirut in the biggest exodus since the 2006 war. More than 1,000 others were injured in the attack – a staggering one-day toll for the country is still reeling from last week’s deadly attack on communications equipment.
A man accused of assaulting two minors in a Badlapur school was shot dead
Maharashtra’s Thane police shot dead Akshay Shinde, accused of assaulting two minors at a school in the city of Badlapur, after, according to police, he grabbed one of the policemen’s gun and opened fire.
