Oasis is officially back… who got tickets?
The reunion, announced earlier this week, has sparked debate about music snobbery and 90s nostalgia, but will it also spark a Britpop fashion revival?
’90s Britpop fashion has been around for a long time, with the blokecore trend – a 2020s take on the football casual style of the ’80s and ’90s – seemingly here to stay.
Southern fashion at the time was called mod-ual by Blur frontman Damon Albarn, a cross between casual and mod, while in the north the trend was more towards sports.
Today, trends like blokecore have combined the two, and it’s safe to say Britpop fashion has had a pretty organic renaissance here in the UK, just in time for the Gallaghers to reunite.
In terms of style, Britpop took smart casual to the extreme, drawing from the structured style of the sixties as well as the tight football casual style popularized by the likes of Happy Mondays in the 80s. Think plain Levi 501 and Fred Perry jeans, mini skirts and socks, and, obv, (now arguably broken – thanks Rishi) Adidas Sambas.
To add 2024 style to the trend, we recommend choosing bright colors and cut styles, especially polo shirts.
Want to get in on the trend? Here are our top picks.
Peak
Banda shirts, socks and polos – these are the tops to go for if you want to emulate ’90s style.
Official merchanes for Oasis are pretty limited right now, though we’re sure that will change. You can still buy classic Oasis logo t-shirts on the band’s website. Now available in white and blue.

Miniskirts, baggy jeans and sweatpants were the bottoms of the Britpop era, and they’re all popular today.
Levi 504s were the most popular jeans of the time. The closest you can get these days are classic 501s, but baggy blue jeans will do.
We are also very much here for mini skirts with cropped polos or even football tees.
Jacket
Even though the show will be held in the summer, we all know that there is very little sunshine, so you might as well be prepared.
Parkas are a mainstay of Gallagher and casual fashion, as well as tracksuit jackets, denim jackets and, of course, Harrington jackets.
You can go full fan mode with a parka from Pretty Green (Liam’s clothing brand), or save money and opt for an oversized khaki parka from ASOS.
You can find Harrington jackets at almost any vintage store, but buying new from the Harrington site isn’t all that expensive.
Denim jackets are always in fashion, so we’d be surprised if you don’t have something stuffed in your wardrobe somewhere. Meanwhile, blokecore is bringing back tracksuit tops in a big way, so there’s plenty to choose from.
Accessories
If there was a symbol of the Britpop era, it would be the bucket hat. Literally everyone was rocking it, including Gallagher himself, and it wouldn’t have been a Britpop revival without him.
While you can’t get your hands on the official Oasis bucket hat anymore, you can buy a replica at Red Bubbles, for less than £25.
Kangol bucket hats, which were popular at the time, are now quite affordable, and are the perfect throwback item. Alternatively, if brands aren’t your thing, you can also find plain black bucket hats at ASOS, as we know they’re loved by Gen Z who will be hitting festivals across the UK.
The same goes for sunglasses: the right round frames.
These timeless sunglasses are still around today, and are the perfect choice for Oasis’ heyday.
You can find timeless style sunnies everywhere, but the ones currently on sale at ASOS, Urban Outfitters and Blank are our favourites.
