Union Minister Giriraj Singh has expressed concern over recent incidents of train derailments and claimed some “sleeper cells” of Pakistan-based terrorists were carrying out attacks.

Referring to media reports and viral videos showing some people obstructing the movement of trains by keeping various objects on the track, Singh said, “The viral video shows children removing rail links with hammers. People are giving directions from people who sleep upstairs.”
Speaking to reporters, Singh said, “People from certain communities are involved in the train delays we have seen recently. This is a terrorist sleeper cell, and also a political sleeper cell. Why is (Congress leader) Rahul Gandhi silent on this?”
The Union Minister further said that the entire incident was “not a simultaneous incident, but an experiment to create chaos in the Indian Railways and the country.”
Attacking the opposition, Singh said, “Neither Rahul Gandhi nor (former Railway Minister) Lalu Prasad Yadav, nor (former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister) Tejashwi Yadav, nor the ‘Tukde-Tukde’ gang will open their mouths, they will just do it. political development.”

Earlier this month, a 24-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj was arrested on charges of trying to obstruct the movement of a train by keeping various objects on the tracks.
The man was arrested on August 1, after a formal complaint against him was registered by the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
Many of his viral videos also show him storing items such as gas cylinders, coins, bricks, etc. on railway tracks.
Then, on August 18, iron rods and other objects were found on the tracks near Kachhpura Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh. The engine of the Nainpur-Jabalpur Passenger Special Train, which was plying the route, collided with the object. However, the train did not stop.
On August 23, a piece of wood was found near a railway track in Uttar Pradesh’ Farrukhabad, causing several trains to stop.
RAILWAY MINISTER SAYS ‘DISTURBING TREND HAS COVERED’
Facing political heat over train accidents, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday said that the railways is conducting a detailed investigation into each incident and said there is a disturbing trend in the occurrence of derailments.
Vaishnaw said when he was responding to a question about the incident of train accident due to the attachment of stones and rods on the railway tracks.
“There are some disturbing trends in some incidents, which need to be taken seriously,” Vaishnaw said on August 28.
“Railways and defense are organizations that should go beyond politics. I don’t believe that railways should be the subject of political blame games,” said the minister in an interaction with reporters after the cabinet meeting.
Vaishnaw also said that railways are the lifeline of the country and if something negative happens, all efforts should be made to ensure that the railways run efficiently.
Responding to a separate question, the minister said that the railways has added 5,300 km of railway tracks to the existing network during the last year.
“Ten years ago, the average development in Railways was four km per day. Today, it is 14.5 km per day,” said Vaishnaw, adding that all approved railway projects will be completed in the next five years.
