Wednesday’s mail page had an idea about Nintendo’s secret new device, as one reader celebrated 20 years of Kuon.

Absolute state of play
Since it didn’t start until 11pm I obviously haven’t seen the State of Play, but I can’t say I’m going out a lot of hope that it will be good. Although who knows, because at some point Sony has to start talking about something.
He has become the poison of conversation because he keeps having boring preview shows, and announcing important things through blogs, which suddenly comes back to the incident as an admission that he has been annoying. It shouldn’t be a problem, all will be forgiven if it’s just effort, but I don’t think Sony is stuck in arrogant mode right now.
I imagine the main problem is how long it will take for the effects of the pandemic to be felt, but since Sony won’t explain anything, or admit their mistakes, it seems aloof and unconcerned. All they have to do is announce some new game and people will immediately forget about the new powers, but I don’t know what will happen this week.
If you look at the sales, and the early release of the game, I say Sony has done a good job with the PlayStation 5. They have been bad at communicating and keeping the hype.
If the problem has been caused by it is generally out of control they just have to say, but one way of solution is simple: just annouce another game.

Spy fitness
Really don’t know what this mysterious new Nintendo wireless device could be, but my guess is it’s going to be some kind of fitness. Most of Nintendo’s weirder peripherals are and definitely want to have some sort of like Wii Fit and Ring Fit Adventure on Switch 2.
I don’t know what, but maybe this thing, whatever, could be a camera that watches you and makes sure you’re doing the exercises right? The problem with those things before is that the game doesn’t know what you’re doing with your legs or body, so it’s going to be too tight. Maybe with Just Dance.
Lemonoid
A bad year
Ubisoft has really made an absolute disaster out of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. For years people have been asking for one of the games to be set in Japan and while I don’t necessarily have a problem with Yasuke in the game, the fact that it’s a Western made game prevents the Japanese from having one. the main role does not look good.
Yasuke appears in many anime and movies, but the ones made by Japanese creators, I think there is a difference. It doesn’t help that the game as a whole doesn’t look very historically accurate, but even worse is the strange apology and half backtracking.
They have made the worst possible situation and now have to deal with the end result, which I think will be lower sales than expected. At the top of Star Wars Outlaws it’s clear that they haven’t had a good year.

Get what you pay for
I have read an article about the choice of colors for the PlayStation OG anniversary, and I was floored by the price of the DualSense Edge controller. Even basic models up to more than two tons are strictly prohibited. Can the GC shed some light on whether this is worth it? I didn’t bother with an internet search but I’m sure you’ll check out the technology.
Gone are the days of teenage hormonal rage smashing up the controller. I think a third party SNES one costs around £16, so it’s a viable technology now. This repetition of control means that the attachment of an elastic 24 carat chain is essential to guarantee an investment like this.

GC: We’ve reviewed it and it’s a fantastic controller, possibly the best we’ve ever made. However, similar to the Xbox Elite controller, it is something that very few people will actually need.
forgotten treasure
20 years ago, in 2004, the title was released to almost no fanfare. Most allowed to slide under the radar, very few saw it worth buying and became something of an urban legend. Today, it is a collector’s item and one of the rarest PlayStation 2 games on the market.
I consider it half of the holy trinity, along with Rule Of Rose and Haunting Ground. Today, I hold in my hand: Kuon.

GC: For those who have not heard about it, iis a survival horror game by FromSoftware. In Japanese, the name can be read as Eternity or Nine Evils.
At least they have a Blade
I saw a rumor that Rocksteady is working on a new Batman game and Sony is trying to cash in on it. They already have Spider-Man, so adding Batman as an exclusive would be a disaster for Xbox. I kind of hope it happens. Someone needs to wake up Xbox, because it’s just a competitor.
It’s beyond frustrating, for me. I envisage Xbox sales tanking even more. Whether Phil Spencer makes the correlation with his stupid multiformat strategy remains to be seen. I highly doubt it.
They finally have a promising line-up, but they don’t give it a chance. Maybe Indiana Jones didn’t change many consoles? Doom: The Dark Ages definitely will!
I think the day-and-date on Game Pass has finally canceled that. Smart leadership will decide 6 months to a year later from the start. It will still be a value proposition. Same strategy for the PC port as well. I can’t understand the level of incompetence. Xbox leadership should all be fired.

GC: Doom isn’t that big, not in 2025.
To be this good takes ages
Quick question: what happened in the Sega/Microsoft Super Game aka live service games possibly featuring Sega characters from the past, present, and possibly future? Or maybe not…
It’s such a secret shrouded mystery that I thought everyone had forgotten about it – including me – until now!
Since Google doesn’t seem to know, I’ll have to wait until Apple AI launches to find out.
Jeff
GC: We don’t know about AI’s comments, but Sega says that the project won’t be ready until sometime after March 2026. It’s still unclear what the game is or if it’s connected to various revivals of the franchise, which is also unheard of. about in general for a long time.
Unsexy excuses
Although most people have concentrated on the price, for obvious reasons, the thing I still can’t get over is that the Concord took eight years to build. It’s not even a guess, that’s according to the developer himself. That’s the largest in an entire decade and nearly twice the average length of time people stay at work.
This is so crazy I can’t even believe it. Mainly because it means they’re copying a popular game and still hoping it’s something new eight years later. Of course he had no intention of spending eight years creating it, but why so many characters?
It might be wrong to complain about too much content, but cut the roster a third time and maybe the game will come out earlier and because it’s not fully priced, it won’t be seen as much.
I can only imagine if Sony was told it only takes one more year out of two or three years in a row and what would you do? But all this is ridiculous. It might not be very sexy to blame project management for the game’s failure, but that’s the reason from what I’ve seen.
That and it’s just a really boring and unimaginative idea for a new game. Like all devs copying Dark Souls and trying to make it almost the same, instead of something slightly different.

What’s the point of that Sonic Central livestream? They could have been at least hinted at in Sonic Frontiers 2. But we got more mobile junk, Lego, and movie trailers.
