New York City Democratic Mayor Eric Adams has just been indicted by a grand jury as part of an ongoing federal corruption investigation.
The indictment marks the first time in the city’s history that a sitting mayor has faced such charges while in office.

Rumors have been rife about Adams’ possible arrest.
The New York Post reported:
NYC Mayor Eric Adams indicted by grand jury in historic federal investigation: sources
Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted by a grand jury on charges related to a federal investigation that has rocked his administration, sources told The Post.
The historic indictment of New York City’s first mayor is expected to be unsealed Thursday by U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, according to the source. The news was first reported by The New York Times.
Adams will surrender to authorities early next week, sources said.
“I always knew that if I stood up for the people of New York, I would be a target—and a target,” Mayor Eric Adams said in a statement to The Post. “If I am charged, I am innocent and I will fight this with every ounce of my strength and passion.”
Details of the exact charges remain unclear, but they are believed to be related to accusations that the Turkish government illegally funneled money to the mayor’s campaign, according to sources.

This is very bad news for Democrats. Call it a surprise at the beginning of October. People in New York City have reached their limits.
On Tuesday, the FBI is now expanding its investigation into possible illegal foreign donations, focusing on Adams’ suspected ties to at least six foreign countries, including Turkey, Israel, China, Qatar, South Korea, and Uzbekistan, the New York Times reported.
The revelation follows a July grand jury subpoena issued to members of Adams’ circle and a dramatic November 2022 seizure of electronic devices by FBI agents.
Investigatorsare primarily focused on whether the Adams administration was involved in pushing for a new Turkish consulate in New York despite fire safety concerns.
In November, the FBI seized NYC Mayor Eric Adams’ cell phone and iPad amid a federal corruption investigation related to his 2021 campaign.
FBI agents also conducted a coordinated raid on the homes of New York City Hall staff, former Turkish Airlines executives, on the same day the FBI conducted a raid on the Brooklyn home of Brianna Suggs, chief fundraiser for New York City Mayor Eric Adams. .
The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the FBI launched an investigation into Mayor Eric Adams regarding illegal foreign donations from Turkey to Eric Adams’ 2021 New York Mayoral election campaign.
The search, which began early Nov. 2, targeted Brianna Suggs, Mayor Adams’ chief fundraiser; Rana Abbasova, assistant in the office of international affairs; and Cenk Ă–cal, a former Turkish Airlines executive who was on Adams’ transition team.
Earlier this year, FBI agents came to the Bronx home of Winnie Greco, a top aide who was being investigated for using her position to gain improper benefits.
Earlier this month, the FBI raided the home of First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and her romantic partner, Schools Chancellor David Banks, as well as the home of Hollis, Queens Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Phil Banks.
The FBI also raided the homes of New York Police (NYPD) Commissioner Edward Caban and Police Chief Jeffrey Maddrey.
